I'm not being sarcastic...I'm really serious. I was thinking that if we could all brainstorm possibilites for peace, we could take this list to government officials and the United Nations.

Respect for life. We say that we do but we do not. Instead we want to be right. On the playground as children we argue about whether "my dad is bigger than your dad" and fight over it. The Middle East is a bigger playground but they are still having the same argument. An "eye for an eye" makes us all blind, as someone said. What we are doing will never bring and end to the unimaginable sorrow and pain people there have already endured. We must be able to see that we all have to let go of our memory and start over fresh with respect for life, as our religions say they believe, as our starting point. Otherwise, the fightng and bitterness will never stop until it is all a wasteland.

Education.

I think the major differences we have with the middle east are because we have such different lifestyles. If the people in the middle east were to study something other than religion they probably wouldn't hate us so much. Not that theres ANYTHING wrong with studying religion, but they can also study history sociology science and technology... and both the men AND women should be able to learn.

Creating a unified union or states (ie. EU, UAE, etc.) They already have GCC (Gulf Cooperating Countries), but few members they have. It must cover the entire Middle East and some part of Northern Africa (Arabic speaking countries), like Libya, Algeria, Tunisia, Morroco.

If our government and all democracies stand up and proclaim that religious based governments are wrong, and subsequently the tide of opinon causes the Middle Eastern theocracies and their people to become profoundly ashamed of themselves for their backwards philosophy, and decide to form democracies, where economics, not begging or bullying is the method of interaction between rational people and countries.

2. Rid the world of Radical Islam.
3. Armageddon.

Only #3 will ever happen.

How sad. The more you 'compromise' with these fascists, the more time they have to build up a nuclear arsenal. You kiddies really need to read history, especially around 1938.

You know, those who ignore history are bound to repeat it.
