He/She probbaly has what is known as Kennel Cough. A vet can give you a prescription for a 2-3 times a day med. that should clear it up in less than a week. Try searching Google for "Kennel Cough Remedies" as well. It is very common and can be picked up easily, even going for a walk.

It can be several things. Kennel cough is a dry hacking cough, many times they cough so hard they gag. This can go on for weeks if left untreated, and is very, very contagious! A dog with kennel cough just has to walk past another dog to pass it on. However, unless it is a puppy it won't kill the dog. It may, however drive YOU crazy!! If your dog seems to cough more when exercising, I would be concerned about heart problems. This is more of a wet cough and often after a coughing spell, they seem to have something in their mouths and swallow it. If it seems to be when the dog is excited or stressed it could be a soft trachea, which contracts when the dog is excited. This is a dry cough. Their are other reason that are due to illnesses. At any rate you need to see your vet for evaluation and medication. Good luck.

For god's sake don't rely on the old lime around the neck thing. Really!

There are several things it could be ranging from the airborne Kennel Cough to Heartworms. The only thing you can do is get your dog looked at by a vet. He'll have to run some tests.

Does it sound like a snorting, honking or gasping noise? What you likely witnessed, is the situation in canine, regularly happening as opposite Sneezing. It easily has no longer something to do with sneezing, yet is a spasm led to by using inflammation of the flavor bud. The flavor bud is a comfortable, fleshy tissue extension of the difficult patate {or roof of the mouth}. Small canine especially, can exhibit this habit and particular breeds could be predisposed to it. in the time of the spasm, the canine will regularly turn his elbow outward and strengthen his neck, jointly as gasping inwards, with a different snorting sound. gently massaging the throat section or pinching the canine's nostrils close, so he could breathe by using his mouth, can help shorten the episode. each and every so often taking the canine outdoors, interior the clean air, stops the spasm. as quickly as the attack ceases, all is going back to common back. in the experience that your canine studies this habit somewhat regularly and the episodes are severe, a visit to the vet is so as, to be certain different attainable motives, that may incorporate viral infections, polyps, extreme flavor bud tissue and nasal mites. in spite of the shown fact that, many situations of opposite sneezing seem to have not any identifiable reason. I easily have been breeding Chihuahuas for an extremely long term and own #10 Chihuahuas. i've got been by using it many situations. i are conscious of it somewhat is frightening, yet except it occurs somewhat many times, it particularly is often no longer something to stress approximately. i'm hoping this permits answer your question!
