Why was New Orleans mayor Ray Nagin not evaluated before he got his job? He says "god" told him to rebuild New Orleans as a chocolate city. He must have schizophrenia since theres no god so he must be having auditory hallucinations. Dont the US officials screen people before they get jobs like this?

If I put up my resume for my job and could not or would not do what was required of me, I'm sure I would be fired! Why is it that these elected officials in Washington still have their jobs? Why can we not fire our president for not fulfilling his sworn duty to defend our country? George Bush has twice, sworn to defend this country against all enemies , foreign and domestic ---yet he remains derelict in his duties.
He also retains his office and his government housing (for which he shouldn't have qualified anyway).Who was supposed to screen these people before they were hired to do the job that they're not doing? God is the only entity holding this country together-- this is such as the Bush administration cannot sell or give away.

"Screen" people? In the United States people are elected in free elections. Over the years there have been fruit cakes nuttier than Ray Nagin elected to public office.

just b/c u dont believe in god doesnt mean that other ppl dont plzz dont be closed minded , he didnt expect a disaster just like president bush didnt expect a terrorist to crash a plane into the towers.
its just something that had to happened b/c of their position. so dont blame them blame the society u live in . he;s not having hallucinations. maybe he was listening to the call of god.
