Well I have known people that was in the special forces and from what I'm told only like 10 out of a 100 make it through the training and those are the ones tough enuf to make it that far. If your 13 you should start training now... Running swimming martial arts scholastic, you haft to be very smart as well as tough. I think you can make it but it is super hard.

When my daughter was 18, she started at the community college, and soon heard all the feminist hoaxes and lies. She came home one day and asked me,"Dad, why don't you think women should be in the Army?"
Note I said Army, not even special forces.
I told her, "Imagine with me that we gave your brother and you both loaded M-16's, turned off all the lights in the big city park down the street. How long do you think you would last?"
She thought a minute and said, "Probably not very long."
I told her, "You are probably exactly right. But, understand your brother is a little 11 year old kid with a sunken chest. Do you have any idea what he will be like when he's 18? You're a full grown woman, as big and strong as you will ever be, and you admit an 11 year old boy can take you out. So, how could you serve in the military with all those grown men?"
She thought a minute and said, "Okay, thanks dad, I wanted to know."
I didn't want to hurt her feelings, but if we had given her an M-16 and him with his bare hands, she still wouldn't have lasted long.
You need a dad with brains to show you how stupid you are. My son could have taken out a woman as big and tough as you think you will ever be when he was 11, and yet you think it is only evil discrimination that keeps you from joining the strongest and toughest men in this nation? And, from fighting the strongest and toughest men in the world?
Don't be so stupid.
I, of course, am human and might be wrong. If you can put 100 pounds on your back and run a mile in 8 minutes, maybe I am wrong. How many push-ups and pull-ups can you do, more then 200? Find the requirements for graduating from special forces and see how close you can come.
Do you perhaps confuse Special Forces with the Cub Scouts?

Technically, women aren't allowed to serve in combat in any of the armed forces. They are allowed to serve indirectly (such as flying fighter planes, or as a medic away from the front lines. So, a woman joining the military may be able to sign up as a nurse or a helicopter pilot, but not in the infantry or as a tank commander.
The special forces is designed to be on the front lines, so they don't allow women to join.
It's hard to really pin down the reason that the military won't let women serve in combat. I've heard several reasons - that it will distract the male troops, that men will take more risks to save a female soldier than a male soldier, that woman are too sensitive, and that women can't cope with the heavy labor involved.
Personally, I think that it's wrong, and if a woman can do the work, then she should be allowed into combat. Lots of other foreign militaries allow women to serve in combat, why shouldn't we??? Eventually, I'm sure that rule will be changed, but probably too late to affect me or you.
Hope this helps!

Really the answer is because Congress says they can't. The US Congress has passed legislation which places strict limits on what women can and cannot do in the armed forces of the US. It is a political issue not one decided by the military.
The Members of Congress don't want to change it because it's very hard for them to get good press whichever side of the issue they take. The rule will not be changing for a long time.

I would have to agree with Fatboy's response, men are more likely to protect a female, it is a psychie thing. I think women are capable though, I think anyone can do anything if they want to bad enough. But might not be a good idea because it would cause conflict between the brotherhood that they share, a female would be like a sister, and in turn would become very protective of her

I think it's because the US public isn't ready to see women die in combat. Look at all the attention that Pvt got in Iraq when she was wounded during a cargo movement. How much media time do the men get when they were killed/wounded? Sounds harsh but men are expected to die in combat... We've been doing it for thousands of years. Also, as a man in uniform, I would go out of my way to save a female rather than a man put in the same situation as the female in combat. What I mean by that is men, in general, want to protect women. That is what we generally are geared for.
Look at this situation: 2 men and woman in a firefight. The woman and one of the men is being hit hard. The other man will more than likely help the female before he helps the other man. You can't have that divide during combat. All have to help all. You have to depend on your buddies to have your back and vice versa. Throw a woman in the mix in combat and the men will be more apt to pay attention to the female, to make sure she is ok, than watching out for their male counterparts.
Hope that made sense.

i am 13 also and i wanted to do the same thing. i wanted to be a ranger. i had to learn my lesson the hard way of why i cant be in the special forces. generally speaking women are not as strong as men. but dont get me wrong there are women that can kick some guys but in any physical activity really easily. but its like one woman out of a couple 100 thousand. those are the odds of a woman being stronger than a man physically. i learned this in martial arts. i went against a guy my size 5 1 and 85 lbs. he nearly nocked my lights out. the only thing that stopped him from beating the hell out of me was the fact that i rang his bell. other wise he would have beat the living crud out of me. so right now you might be able to beat any guy up but when you get older your growing is goin to slow down and the guys are going to speed up they are going to grow al lot more muscle mass super fast and they will grow bigger than you. its hard to believe but it is true.
another thing, okay so there are a say a couple hundred women available to the US that are strong enough to go into the special forces. imagine this only 1/10 of the men who go into basic training for special forces ever make it through. imagine 1/10 of 3000 women thats 300 women who will make through compared to say 30000 men. it would take the military an inordinate amount of money to find 300 women who could pass through the test. it would be alot easier to just replace the women with men.
another reason: the public is not ready to see women die along with men yet. they are still deep in the belief that men should fight with their fists while women should fight with their minds and words.
one last reason: like all the other people have said to you. a man would choose to save a woman before he saved a man. here is the reason: if 2 men and a woman were all the people that are left on this earth. and one of the men and the woman are in a life threatening situation the 1 man that is left would save the woman. why? because he needs a mate to carry on the human race. now adays this situation takes on a different face because there is lots and lots of women and men. now a days the man would save the woman because she is weaker and he views her as the one that is more in need. if you were on a battle field you would not want a man to stop to help you and endanger his life to save yours. they would want him to continue on. and let you be saved by a rescue or reconnaisace team. it would be easier for him to leave two men than two women.
i hope this helps
and what ever you choose to believe
i hope you think through
what you choose
from 13 yr old to 13 yr old
trust what i say

You go girl. Go for it. Why not you can do anything you want to be and succeed in anything you want if you really put your mind to it. Committmment and sacrifice is the key. I am sure when the time comes to join..you will be selected as one of the best because you are fully committed and know what you want in life. You have alot more years left before you can join the army so look ahead and prepare well. GOOD LUCK>>YOU WILL MAKE IT>>

Females, biologically, can't achieve the level of muscular strength males can... I suppose that's the reason.
Also, there are so many men in the Army, that if women served in the same unit, well, that's just trouble waiting to happen.
