It depends upon the person. Just be yourself. Don't try to be more mellow or fiesty just to please a guy. Be yourself. If a guy is really into you, he'll probably like you being both mellow when you're feeling mellow and fiesty when you're feeling fiesty. My girlfriend is mellow sometimes, and other times she's a real pistol. I like her that way. She's being herself--and there's never a dull moment with her.

I like both at the right time. I like it mellow when the mood calls for it, and feisty at the appropriate time. I like a women who is independent and knows what they want in life. I can't deal with a whinny, clingy women. Sassy is a turn on to some guys. But that's just my preference. As for you, be secure with who you are, or you'll come off as a phony. Don't compromise who you are for no man! If he wants you he'll except you as you are!!

We humans, are not one sided characters, we have many sides to us. So you can be feisty one minute, and mellow the next, that's what makes us interesting.
If your friends say you need to be more outgoing, that's something you can work on. However, it doesn't mean, that you can't still be mellow and fiesty too.
So rather that subtract from who you are, you will be adding a new dimension to yourself, by becoming more outgoing.

There's a time to be feisty and a time to be mellow. You have to determine when that is.
