We can't call it the United States either since Mexico is the United Mexican States. We're lazy.

The US, is actually the USA. United States of America. We refer to ourselves as Americans from that full name. America is actually 2 continents, North America and South America. Collectively, The US Canada & Mexico make up North America. And South from there is technically South America. The narrower area between (and sometimes including) Mexico and the top of the main body of South America is ofterntimes also referred to as Central America. For example, Guatamalans are considered Central Americans. I am fairly sure that is technically South AMerica, but geography class was a long time ago.

No it isn't. There is a contiinent called 'North America' and a continent called 'South America' but there is no continent called 'America'. There is only the country 'America' which is short for the United States of America in the same way that Mexico is short for the United States of Mexico.
I don't think there is person in the world who is confused about this.

It has always been the United States of America, historians have always said as the Americans moved west, more and more states joined the union. We have always been known as Americans. The country south of us is just a country the is south of America like Canada is north of America, It is the Globalists that are trying to make it one big huge Continent called the American continent, And they are teaching that in school now I think, I was never taught that in school. Their is only one America and that is the United States of America. America is not one big continent. I don't give a dam what the other people are saying it never has been the American Continent, the only continent of America is the United States, people south of us are not Americans and neither are the people north of us. Their is only one America.

So doorknobs like you will have a question to ask. We all know that North America is a continent, calling our country America is a shortening of United States of America.

It is just a short version of The United States of America. We are part of North America. Most people get the drift of what we are talking about since Canada and Mexico have different names.
