Mousse=bad. Just throw that stuff away.
I understand why you feel the need for more mousse...if you don't put so much, it'll just be frizzy and poofy, right? I have the exact same problem. Paul Mitchell Super Scuplt. Get it. Use it. love it. I promise. It is not quite as thick as a gel, and it will not leave flakes in your hair like mousse will if you use too much (been there, done that). Right after you get out of the shower (your hair needs to still be a little drippy for the best results), towel-dry but not excessively. Depending on the length of your hair, use a little more than a quarter-size liquidy blob of this stuff. Turn your head upside-down, spread the liquid on both of your palms evenly, and run your hands and fingers through your hair (kind of combing it as you go--the choice is yours whether to comb or not, but NEVER brush curly hair). Once the liquid is spread pretty evenly throughout your hair, flip back right-side up and tilt your head to both sides, scrunching each time. After that, put some kind of curl spray on it to hold its place (I personally use L'oreal Pumping Curls spray). Sit down somewhere that your head can be straight up (make sure the curls are where you want them to fall) and let your hair dry naturally (unless your hair is not too thick and you don't have a poof problem, in which case blow-drying is ok, but don't turn upside-down to blow-dry). When your hair is completely dry (or almost completely), it will be pretty crunchy. Now all you need to do is tilt your head to either side again (and, if necessary, upside-down once more) and scrunch a few more times. The crunchy-ness will go away, leaving your curls in place but not hard.
Make sure you do not keep scrunching too often during the day (a few times is normal), or your curls will just become frizzy.
Also, Super Sculpt is actually recharged if it gets wet--so if it rains, no worries! Your curls may even look better than the first time! Paul Mitchell's a genius, I sware!
Good luck, as I know it's hard for us curly girls!

Try a different hair product than moouse. There are lots of different creams or gels that you could try instead. I have very naturally curly hair and I use a cream on my hair that tames the frizz and keeps the curls soft. Just try different products until you find the one you like.

Use a diffuser and a light hold mouse. I have found that I really like Paul Mitchell's mouse. A bit cheaper mouse however is herbal essences. It is very light and smells great. I would stay away from Garnier Fructis mouse. Although I love Garnier, their mouse is just a bit too strong and usually left my hair with that crunchy look we hate!!

Whats the reason you put so much mousse in your hair? I used to because it got really frizzy if I didn't. I switched to using Frizz-ease hair serum. It works really good and doesn't make your hair crunchy. You should try it.

why do u put mouse in ur hair? to make it curl nicer? try using a setting hair spray. it holds ur hair and defines ur curls without looking hard and wet.
u HAVE to stop with all the mousse let ur hair take a break!
use sunsilk for dry hair because it makes ur hair really soft. from all the products u used ur hair is probably really dry.

Try using a diffuser on the end of a blowdryer after you apply your mouse. It helps to dry the hair, loosen up the products, make hair more natualr looking, and enhance curls.

stop putting so much mousse in your hair. have you tried blow drying your hair to get rid of the crunchy-ness? it works nicely. or you can try putting your hair up in an elegant bun or updo to make it look nice.
