My husband got all his teeth cut out and the Dr. told him to go home and rest. As soon as we got home all he wants to do is wait on me and do everything around the house that could have waited. I keep telling him to sit down and rest, but he won't do it. How do I get him to sit still without having to knock him out, or drugging him up ?

I think those are your only options.. Drugging him up would be the preferred choice.

hmmm!

Well, I just had surgery a few months ago, and after a week of very impatiently being "good" and resting, I jumped up and resumed my regular life and ended up with a post op hemorrhage!

You could try telling him a scary story like that. I think if someone had said that to me, I might have been a little more patient. Then again, maybe not. My head is as hard as diamond much of the time...

He's probably not ready to sit down and relax yet. But he will. And if you are up and about, he'll be up and about along side of you. So, rent a movie, play some cards or boardgame. Sit down and relax along with him. And make sure he takes his pain meds before the stuff the dentist game him is worn off.

He is probably nervous and full of energy.
I got three teeth pulled out and I had to relax
before I would down. Just tell him your concerns.
I slept like a baby that night after I wound down.
I took the next day off.

Try reason, if that doesn't work you may have to tie him down or sit down with him. I'm impressed he's got the energy to move around.

Unless any syptoms have been masked by drugs his body will tell him when it is time to stop and rest.

Leave him alone with some blockbuster rentals.

Go have fun with some friends!

try to see if he will reason with you and watch a movie together and cuddle up with him and tell him he needs to take this time to relax with you.
