It is a fast way to communicate with other people online. It is like an instant e-mail. I prefer Yahoo IM over AIM because it is more versitile.
Go to http://www.yahoo.com and look on the left side for MESSENGER and then click it. When it takes you to the next page do the download. After the download sign in with your Yahoo ID and you are good to go.

you get it by going to the yahoo home page and scrolling over messenger click get yahoo messenger
its way better using yahoo

its chat. like email, only direct both parties talking back and forth.. aim is older i think, but yahoo more commonly used.

yahoo and msn have it free for download. you can talk to people kind of like email, except it is much faster and more like a phone conversation.
