As a lot of these responses were rather short, hopefully this can help you.
First and foremost. If you feel the need to committ suicide at any time, dial 911 and tell them. They will get you the help that you cannot get on your own. Believe me, your friends, family and associates would be much happier knowing you made that call to get help rather than give up and go the other way.
Second, your cutting. I too have been/am a cutter, and found this book in my local Barnes & Noble to be of immense help. It's called 'Cutting Understanding and Ocercoming Self-Mutilation'. The author is Steven Levenkron and I highly recommend that any Self-Mutilators out there pick it up and read it.
This constant thoughts of suicide could be a bigger problem, mainly depression. And it sounds like you need help in treating it. Call your doctor, call your lawyer, call your best friend, call your parents, your sisters, brothers, hell call your next door neighbor. The point is, you need to speak to someone about this problem to get better. Therapy might be the best way, but if your having problems speaking to someone about this issue, you might not want to do that. I urge you to seek that help. You need to speak to someone and just let it all out. Believe me, after a few hours of crying to a therapist you will feel better.
They can also prescribe anti-depressant drugs for you that should help you start feeling better in the long term as well. Depression is an inbalance of chemicals inside your body, and to get that balance back you might need pills to take.
The first step is always the hardest, but once you take that first one, things smooth out. Talk to someone, prefferably someone with a degree that can assisst you.

First, stop cutting yourself. If you feel so sad, then you feel enough that you don't need to cut yourself to "feel".
Second, the only way you are going to feel any better is by going to the doctor. There is nothing wrong with therapy. There IS something wrong with killing yourself.
Finally, stop hating yourself. It's a form of self-pity, which is really self-centeredness, and such a selfish emotion.
You are depressed. You need to go to the doctor, first for tests to make sure that you are physically healthy, and then possibly for medication and therapy.
You know, life is what YOU make it. It's your choice. Go to the doctor and give yourself a chance to be happy, or you can choose to continue hating and cutting yourself and remain miserable.
You really aren't alone. Just take things one day at a time.

How can people around you not notice this? GET HELP! There are people out there that care and would like the chance to help. It doesn't have to be therapy, just a friend to talk to. But there may be a physical reason this is happening. A doctor could tell you if you have clinical depression and give you meds for it. Seek help, either from a friend or a doc.

ok, first you have to realize that there will always be millions of people who have it wirse. if you do not want to go to a phsyciatrist you could try a support group. there can be many different causes to this "problem" first maybe you feel that you havent been doing anything with your life like it is useless.
you can help this by:
1. you can start up a hobby or sport and get active. getting active can give you more energy, in which will make you happier because you have something to look forward to
2. you can set on of you favorite activities to do once a week so that you have something to look forward to each day, this activity should be something that makesd you happy, for example, so me people like to go hiking, or you could go to a club, or just have a movie day with friends, if yoou are in a money rut, or feel that you shouldnt have to spend that much money to be happy, try going to the beach with friends.
3. you can spend time watching a favorite program on tv, or look forward to something like wear you favorite outfit on certain days, or go to the park
4. another way to get yourself out of this sadness, you can get a new pet, a cute face can always cheer somebody up. having a constant companion will give you something to do and will make you feel needed.
now the problem could also be caused by a terrible event that had happened that you cant let go of. in which case:
1st. you need to understand that it is done whether it was your fault or not, it is in the past
2nd. the second stage is acceptance, next you need to except that whats done is done and it can not be changed now
3rd. you completely start a "new" life, buy new clothes get a new wardrobe or change whatever you are not comfortable with in your life.
another thing that could cause this is that you are overly emotional, the only thing i can say on this is that some things are realy no big deal when some people make it out to this whole big thing. my last and probably most vital peice of advice to you is this. if nothing on here has worked, think of the people who have it worse than you, then get into a program to help these people, like starving children i can say that by far they have it the worst, you could enter or start a program that helps get food or medicine to these sick/dying/ and starving children. if you are an animal person then you can get into a program that shelters and gives medical care to abused or abandoned pets, doing anything like this would give you life "purpose" and would make you feel kind of compelled to keep doing it which would keep you from comitting suicide because there are people who need you. whenever you cut yourself or think of suicide remember this, you would destroy the people who love you the most like friends and family, husbands/boyfriends. thn you would put them through exactly what you are going through.

Please don't be afraid to get help of any kind! You definately need some kind of medication and therapy. I've been diagnosed with manic depression and have attempted suicide a few times and believe me it's not worth it. Cutting yourself is not the answer to anything. You need help trying to like yourself better. Everyone is worth much more than they are aware of and a lot of time they need to be reminded of this. Not to mention that there is always someone somewhere who loves you and thinks about you at least once a day and you don't want to hurt them by hurting yourself. Please do yourself and them a favor by getting help as soon as possible. Your definately worth it. Best of Luck!

You need to get into therapy. If there is a reason why you can't get into therapy, then please see a school counselor or someone. There is nothing to be afraid of. Also, look at yahoo groups for others you can talk to share with - do a search in groups for mental health. Learn Reiki or some other alternative healing. If you need help finding free Reiki materials to start to study from, or need to know what Reiki is go to http://www.happyher.com/reiki/index.shtml They have a great program. If you tell them about your situation, they can give you more help too.

Its ALL about therapy. I was miserable for 10 years. Then I got therapy. Drugs (low dose) and talking. It worked wonders! In fact, after just 6 months, my body seemed to get used to the new levels of hapiness, and I am still happy 8 years later!
I used Effexor, some type of drug. I didn't feel all "drugged" and it just slowely helped me get happy. I started looking at the good things in life instead of the bad.
Ask your doctor though...I understand that every person is different and different things work best for different people.
Please email me if you want to talk or want more help!

Hi there,
It is hard to answer your question without learning the circumstances that led to your situation. Are you a student? Doe you work? Do you live with your family? Significant-other? Are you independent? What size of city/town do you live in? Do you travel? What are your hobbies?
Aside from contributing to your state of mind, I think answering these questions can help figure out what options you have.
Talking to reasonable, compassionate people can certainly help you find your answer. You are already talking to people here, which is a great first step. Do not stop there.
You're more than welcome to e-mail if you feel like further discussing this.
All the best,
SAMer

anti-depressants.
they work.
call your doctor and set an appointment.
life is too precious to end. You gotta remember once you do it you can never go back. Think about how bad you would hurt your family. You don't need to be afraid about therapy its just one simple little call.
good luck
remember that there are people who love you.
i will pray for you a special prayer tonight.

cutting is a choice that you make over other choices, other ways to solve a problem. A therapist can help you get alternatives to cutting.
A therapist is only a human being. I doubt you are afraid of a therapist but are afraid of what might be "wrong" with you. Therapists have heard it all, and what you tell him or her is not so horrible.
