They'd say it's not murder to kill the person they were killing(stringing from a tree, beating to death, draging to death, shooting etc etc.) they would say that it was appropriate to do that because they were "less" than humans....well that was WRONGFUL thinking.... Just like when I speak with people today who claim that "I don't look at it that way" ~ when I refer to animals being MURDERED.
The fact is MURDER is MURDER.... if you try to separate things well pretty soon someone is coming for your "first born".... do you catch the drift of what I'm saying?
JUST BE VEGAN.... it took me a while to awaken, for me personally "in this life" ~ possibly 'BUILT instalations' in me over time is what "came thru" to execute a function in order to allow me to see things in a CLEAR enough way to WAKE UP>

So if the "wolfman" came down here and murdered me or you, that would not be considered "murder"? I guess I could use that PREDATOR example from the movies....
it is actually less expensive to be a vegan than a non-vegan....
the sentiment that PLANTS "like it" when we as animals "grow or eat" them...I do think that they like it when they are better taken care of as far as "safe fertilizers"(as far as not messing too-negatively with the plants genes) versus non-safe fertilizers, I use the word "like" and really PLANTS do not "feel" as animals do and so well I do not have the proper word choice
on the second page of vegan.20fr.com I have a picture(very primitive) which attempts to illustrate the "universal animal" and the "universal plant" ~ I mean if I was drawing a plant and animal to "hypothetically" represent the situation

I believe that it is a PERFECT corollary or whatever to bring the KKK into this for "perspective"... I mean we are dealing with WRONG mindsets of the people which in all reality comes down to a PHYSICAL REALITY.... once again remember I was once wrong to murder as I did

You do bring up an interesting point: how did members of the KKK justify murder. Most of them were church going Christians. I wonder if they feel remorse for their actions?

Likening meat eaters to KKK members is a slippery slope argument. Also a very weak argument too. If humans were meant to only eat veggies we would have a whole different set of teeth to start with. Second if in fact eating meat is so wrong the vast majority of humans on Earth then would have evolved to be vegans. They did not and the overwhelming majorityof humans like to eat meat. Killing an animal for food is not murder. Killing another human is. There is a difference.
Animals are not human and most are quite tasty. Personally I hunt. When I shoot a deer it usually falls dead immediately. No pain, no suffering, just meat in my freezer. Grouse---BANG Dead. Tasty morsels they are. Meals fit for Kings they used to say. So tomorrow nite when I'm grilling a big fat venison steak on the grill and maybe a trout, for a little redneck surf and turf. I'll be laughing at the thought you have to force your beliefs on others who really do not care.I enjoy meat, I live for meat, I'm happy and healthy and will continue living just the way I do. Nothings better than a big ole' pot roast with roasted potatoes, carrots, onions, mushrooms and wild rice heaped on it.
If you want to not eat meat. Go for it. I respect that. It is right for you. Don't terrorize people who do not share your beliefs. I would never belong to the KKK. Nor would I ever be a NAZI ( I know you didn't mention that in this question but it is a standard response for people of your mindset) Don't liken me to them. Believe me, I would not march my venison into an oven until after I shot it and dressed it. I don't hang them till after I shoot them either and then it is to butcher them.

The KKK is still around and active. NAZISM (as that in WW2) isn't, but the NEO-NAZIS are. Those people are a bunch of whacked out, psychological misfits who use the Nazi ideas as a way to 'have fun.' They go out, get likkered up and think they are the baddest asses in the world, but they're just a bunch of low life losers. Just my opinion.

hmmm .... I guess you'll need to prosecute your neighbours cat for 'murdering' the local wildlife next - maybe we should give it the death penalty! I can see it now hundreds of millions of insects / animals / fish etc.. all charged with murder - all in prison. Isn't this where your argument goes - If all animals are my equals then surely they are subject to my laws?
Seriously, though, being a vegan / vegetarian is the ultimate decadence. Rich enough to choose while half the world starves.
Someone needs some perspective.

NO, I really don't understand what you are getting at here. Perhaps you should post this question on the Religion/Spirituality heading, where a philosophical discussion can be held? That would seem a more appropriate venue than "Law Enforcement and Police".
Could you re-state your question? Or perhaps your position? It is a little confusing.

How can a moron like you even compare what KKK did to African Americans to eating animals?! You are a stupid moron for trying to push your believes on people who don't give a damn. If I wanna eat a little baby cow or a freaking bunny, then i will. This country has a whole policy on freedom and I'm free to eat Bambi if I so desire.

I have to say, I, too, do not agree, but fell everyone has a right to their own opinion, but I also have to say, I love the answers given here. I laughed my *** off at a time in my life where laughter is desperately needed. So thank you to all of you who answered, and thank you to the person asking the stupid question. (p.s.-- The Bible tells us to have dominion over the beasts of the Earth, and I am a Christian. Therefore, I will eat meat.)

If you're actually comparing a human being with a cow or a chicken, I just don't know what else to say.
