Is there any kind of statistics on grown men that suck their thumb? I know this 24 year old guy who still sucks his thumb..when he's watching t.v. and such. He said that he just never grew out of it. He's also one of those "spoiled" people. His parents just bought him his own house because he broke up with his girlfriend (right after signing a year long lease on an apartment with her). It's like they never properly disciplined him or something. Anyway, do you guys think that is REALLY weird for a grown man to suck his thumb? Is it a sign of some kind of serious underlining mental issue?

He's also the type of person who HAS to get what he wants and if he doesn't he throws a fit. He has been like this ever since he was a child.

He didn't really have a bad childhood. I mean, he got everything he ever wanted because his parents are filthy rich. They would always buy him stuff. I think they just thought that would make him happy.

Now,now everyone,he not sick, nor does he have any mental issue. You know what his problems is?He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. His parents never tell him no.He was not taught to be a big boy,you can forget man. They didnot tell him life sometime is not fair.Forget about,if you don't work you don't eat.Mom and Dad saw their child as their apple of there eye,but of course they forgot he have to grow-up.The problems belong to the parents. The child become what there environment is and he is a spoil brat.He is not husband material, let alone a man.He a child, stuck in a man body.Listen lady momma still have her apron string on this one.You can not help him nor can you raise him.His parents did a poor job to prepare there son for adulthood. He can be a millionaire.A MOMMA BOY is what he is.That my diagnosis.Just be his friend.Maybe you made rub off on him to be a man.

The mental issue here is the guy is spoiled and we should ALL be happy for the ex-girlfriend. Imagine what her life would have been with this guy. To bad you can't somehow get him to substitute a pacifier for his thumb? Just out of curiosity........ does he have bucked front teeth? From all those years of sucking his thumb I'd be surprised if he didn't?

I think he should probably get some help and unfortunately there will come a day when his parents are no longer there to help him and then what? Its unfortunate that his parents couldn't do better by him. He is in for a long hard wake up call one day. And above all else I hope he gets the help he needs, so he doesn't make the same mistakes with his own children.

Man, that's messed up. Not just the thumb sucking, but his whole personality. I did find an interesting site for thumb-sucking adults though... apparently there are more of them. But adult thumb sucking is bad for the teeth apparently and beyond that it's just weird!

WOW spoiled brat and it can be a symptom of underlying problems. I still suck my fingers when I have been traumatized, so I would say yes. Personal experience is that it's a comfort issue, and so is the fetal position. Dunno it sounds like he is a child in a man's body--he really needs to stop getting money from his parents. I don't know what you can do to convince him of this....maybe just have a talk??

None. Cats are no longer canaries. you have curiously no longer paid for an respectable reason for demise rfile on the cat. you're no longer a vet. you have truthfully no certainty-based foundation to even make a at as quickly as-confronted allegation that a "smell" led to the demise of this cat. and that i assure to you that your Roto-Rooter guy is packed with sewer if he tried to cajole you that he had any comprehend-how in determining the reason for demise of something. you haven't any longer any criminal recourse against every physique. and you have defined no longer something that shows every physique is to blame for the demise of your cat. Even assuming that your assumptions are one hundred% acceptable, this would not create any criminal accountability on the area of the worker or the corporation. they did no longer create the sewer gas. You employed them to earnings something. They checked it. they did no longer discover something. You employed others. They checked it. they did no longer discover something. the administrative is coming back out. he will verify it. perhaps he will discover something and doubtless he won't. yet whether he shows something, it would not propose they owe you something - different than possibly a refund of the value of the provider call from final twelve months. And candidly, i would not have remained in a house that had a foul smell that i presumed grow to be making my cat ill. i might have moved myself and my baby out of there in the present day. (the persevering with smell might have given you the criminal precise to break the hire, assuming you had a hire.)
