People seemed pretty divided on this idea in a previous question, and I wanted to give you the opportunity to tell me what you think:

This year I'm going to dress as a fundamentalist baptist minister, and then go around my neighborhood telling little children that they're going to burn in hell for celebrating the devil's holiday.

I'm sure that the parents will know that it's just my costume, and play along. right?

Do you think that the parents will like it?
Did you think I'll get invited to a lot of parties?

Oh, and what are you going to dress up as?

Oh Mira, you know that I wear my pirate regalia all year around. Halloween should be a day to dress differently!
;)

But the funny part is that the MORE religious the area is, the more I'll likely get away with.

How could a parent yell at a minister in front of their children?

That's the beauty of it.

If you really want to be controversial add a little Hitler's mustache and small red horns that they could only see if they look closely.

I think you might be welcomed by some but I have a feeling you might piss off more than a few people.

You might ask yourself what inspired you to do this and furthermore what your ultimate agenda is. It seems to me fundamentalism has be a source of suffering for you.

I do agree there are elements that need to change within the fundamentalist paradigm, else this suffering will continue to be propagated.

Someone at my school actually dressed up as a fundamentalist Baptist minister. He kept yelling "Can I get a amen?!" So, sure. Go for it. I'm probably going as a 70's protestor.

Sadly, I think you'll get a group of followers preaching right along with you. On the plus side, maybe you can scam them out of a few bucks. I'll bet you won't, though. You're probably more ethical than the real fundy baptist (and other) ministers who do scam their flock out of $$$$.

Halloween stems from a spanish custom called Day Of The Dead. If one studies ANY religion, and celebrates halloween, they are completely lost!!! peace. By the way i like your costume

If you were going to a Halloween party with a bunch of adults, then absolutley, go for it! However, I don't think telling kids they're going to hell is a good idea, and I think you will piss a lot of people off.

It wouldn't be anything new. As for the parents, most have probably been contributing money to someone saying the same thing.

I think it won't go over to well. And someone will call the cops about you.
Stick to the college campus parties with it.

Funny, and I'd like to be there to see it, but shouldn't you be wearing your pirate regalia?

The point is to scare people during Halloween. Not bore them to death.
