Psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis have no cure, but many different therapies can reduce, or nearly stop, their symptoms. No single treatment works for everyone, but something is likely to work in most cases. You may need to experiment before you find a treatment that works for you.

During pregnancy, nothing is 100% safe. The potential risk factor to the baby versus the risk factor of a severe flare in the mother (the need to treat the symptoms) must be weighed.

UVB, going to the beach, ultraviolet B light, narrow-band UVB with moisturization is extremely effective in the treatment of psoriasis, especially during pregnancy.

Of the systemic treatments, oral retinoids and methotrexate are very bad, while cyclosporine and etanercept (Enbrel) are relatively safer. No treatment should be undertaken without the counsel of the OB doctor.

Avoid the use of coal tar during pregnancy and during the period of breastfeeding thereafter.

Psoriasis is a disease that takes place when the body’s immune system mistakenly believes healthy skin cells to be enemy cells and starts to produce many more new cells to replace these cells. This is the reason why there is no cure for psoriasis and medications applied to treat psoriasis are only able to remove the symptoms temporarily. Don't go the "cream route", it's only just a waste of time and money. Been there Done that!

You need to read "Psoriasis Free For Life" by Katy Wilson if you want to cure your psoriasis for good. Available online also @ http://www.psoriasisforeverfree.com It's a book that shows you how to cure psoriasis naturally in a few days. I cured my psoriasis permanently in 6 days after reading this book. Good luck!

Psoriasis back of head,: Baby born with it. Child had thick hair. Psoriasis needs a lot of exposure to the sunlight. Child did not get that, continued having psoriasis attacks as an adult. When psoriasis was exposed to sunlight a lot, that psoriasis disappeared.

After a long winter psoriasis appeared on legs below knees to ankles. Various preparations failed to do any good. Going out in summer wearing shorts made the psoriasis go away.

What it takes actually is D3 in the sunlight.

Cure psoriasis starting today - even if your doctor or dermatologist says "it's impossible!"
I've just followed a guide called psoriasis free for life that completely cured me of this debilitating and embarrassing disease in less than a month!
Remember, this will not only treat the symptoms that you do see:
the red, inflamed itchy skin.
The silvery scales that seem to erupt for no reason.
The burning or bleeding that occurs around your joints.
The cracking, oozing and painful patches on your skin.
But it also treats the underlying cause of psoriasis - the part you don't see - the actual immune system deficiency that causes these itchy patches to appear and scale over.
For more information, check here : http://Psoriasis.naturallysaver.com .
You can definitely get back your life, your confidence and your self esteem!

I read that some people have success using Vicks Vap-o-rub. It's been known to help people with nail fungus, too. Of course, there's still the smell issue, but that's the trade-off. Maybe there's a comparable potion at the store - check the contents for an odorless version...

Either way, it's inexpensive and worth a shot. Just rub it on once or twice a day and give it a couple of weeks (fungus takes longer, though).

This is for AFTER YOU HAVE YOUR BABY, if you still have it. My ex-mother in law has this really bad, but when she goes to the tanning bed, wearing a very high SPF it goes away. She is blocking out the harmful rays for the most part and drying up the psoriasis.

I have found a lotion that I use on my daughter and it helps more than any perscription we have ever tried. It is Called "Essence of Time" emolient cream. I have only found it on the Home Shopping Channel. Also on their web site. We have been dealing with this for forteen years and tried hundreds of products, I order 3 months supply at a time for about 30 dollars and it is worth every penny, She cracks and bleeds it gets so bad. Good luck with the new baby!
