For whatever anyone wants to know "Why", it shows they want to gain knowlege. Why does the ignition start the engine? Why do people stare at me? Why is it necessary to have good manners and etiquette? Why is fast food bad for you? Why do you ask why about everything? The 'why' is a way of learning and understanding what is going on around you and what you can do about it so then you can ask 'What' and 'How'.

Man sinned and brought the ruler-ship of God in question. So God being of infinite wisdom has allowed us to prove that we can rule ourselves. (Jeremiah wrote that man has dominated man to his injury so even way back then we were doing a lousy job at it.) Because Adam sacrificed a perfect life to sin, a perfect man had to be willing to sacrifice his life for our salvation and Jesus was willing to do that. If we are willing to subject ourselves to God's Will, He has promised us everlasting life in Paradise. Jesus told us that that it means everlasting life to seek knowledge of the one true God and the one he sent forth, John 17:3. "Seek and yea shall find."
