Check out the pictures I put in the Source box. If that is what it looked like then it is just a skin tag. These are not harmful. Pain in the butt but not harmful. These can be frozen or lasered off.

I think you should take her to a doctor if for no other reason than to set a good example for future behavior. She is obviously concerned about it or she wouldn't have shown it to you. The fact that she did is a wonderful thing which shows she trusts you. Keeping the lines of communication open at all times is one of the most important aspects of parenting that often goes unmentioned. Kids who talk to their parents have less problems and get into less trouble than those who are afraid to.
With this you can teach your daugher: if you don't know what is wrong with your body, ask your mom and if she doesn't know, go to a doctor.
It could be as simple as a skin tag (a kind of mole that is colorless and hanging "by a thread" and these sometimes shrink) or it could be more serious. Either way, doctors/pediatricians are taught how to deal with these things in a respectful and stress-free manner. Remember kids are keenly aware of our reactions (verbal, body language, etc.) than we know and they base their own reactions off ours.
Good luck!

i have a mole down there, it was something that i was born with. i have it checked by the Dr. every year when i go in for my annual, and i also check it with a mirror once a month after a self breast exam. please have it checked out by a doctor, a change in a mole or birth mark could indicate cancer; i don't mean to scare you because i don't know how old your daughter is, but i am speaking from experience and what my Dr. has told me about mine. also if it starts to cause her pain, or starts to bleed please get it checked out right away. thankfully i have not had any issues with my very unusual mole, and i hope that your outcome is just as promising.

We all know our bodies better than anyone else.
Your daughter confided in you because she was worried. How precious our daughters are. A visit to the doctor to relieve everyones mind is the smart thing to do. Don't take chances with your daughters health.

I would still take her to the doctor and have it checked out. It may be something that needs to be removed and biopsied. There are female cancers that can happen early!

no. take her to a dr. that could be something that needs attention. hopefully its not anything serious. just take her stay in the room with her and figure it out. 0and you should be showing her that if there is any type of problem with your body(no matter where it is) you go to the dr. good luck

What if that is something that should have been caught early? Why on earth would you not take her to the doctor? You have more daughters to replace her if she dies?

are you sure it wasn't a tick?
genital warts are usually flatter or shaped like cauliflower so this doesn't fit...
how old is your daughter? has she started her period yet? if yes she should be scheduled for a pelvic exam ASAP, if no you should call her pediatrician and ask for guidance.

Wow that does not sound normal. Even if she hasn't ever had sex, I would be concerned and take her just to be on the safe side.
