I wonder how America itself influences Christians.

Well, I live in France, and really, french Christians don't believe the way american Christians do. Christianity is discrete and more respectful in France.

France is a secular nation. Unless America claims it is secular, I think it actually is christian. "in god we trust" "god bless america" and so on.

I don't think America influences Christians, I think many Chrisitians try to influence America. This nation is slowly becoming religion based on many things. Religion has entered politics. Maybe one day we will be a kind of thoecracy if we continue.

A lot of the "Christians" in America are Christian in name only. They were brought up by Christian parents, so they call themself a christian, even if they have no regard for God or the church. I don't understand people like that. I personally call myself a Christan because I believe in Jesus, trust Him for my salvation, and try to please Him. That's where the respectfulness comes in. Just watch out for the poser Christians, and disregard them.

The chilly conflict adoption of "one united states of america less than God" contained in the pledge of allegiance seems to have perplexed human beings. Many human beings assume it has continuously been there. and it really is often used as reinforcement that the country became depending less than Christian values. the significant situation is how poorly knowledgeable human beings seem about the founding of the country, the structure, and purely who the founding fathers were.

I'm from Ohio, and religion is rampant. Nine times out of ten, when I receive a compliment about my ethics or actions, they don't call me a good guy, good kid, good person, or anything like that. Nope, to them, I'm a "good Christian."

I wonder if they'd think less of me if I corrected them.

In my personal experience,(west coast, and western Europe) I'd say no, but then I've never been to the "bible belt" south, so that might change my answer.
