So is it dans or au? Thanks for all the replies so far! By the way, is this true for all reflexive verbs?

Je me suis initié (for a boy)
Je me suis initiée (for a girl)

AU français.

Why "au"? Because the verb is: "s'initier à quelque chose". But "à" + "le" = "au"

I don't understand what you mean by "is this true for all ..."? Are you talking about the past participle? I suppose.

Well, you will need to learn the conjugation (do you say that in English?) for pretty much all the verbs, as we have a lot of irregular verbs. The first group (verbs ending with "-er" - but not verbs ending with "-er" are regular) usually end up in "-é"; the 2nd group usually end up in "-i"; as for the 3rd group, I think it's "-u".

[I checked my conjugation book to answer, and realized that I really should brush up on my grammar!!! It's going to be a bit of a nightmare!!!]

For a woman, "initiée".
For a man, "initié".

By the way, it's "Je me suis initié(e) DANS le français"

ADDED LATER:

Oops. Mario's right. My point was that a preposition was missing. I just didn't realise the one I chose was not the right one.
