As a the spouse of a national guard member, you can get an ID card and us most facilities on a military installation, ie the commissary, px, theaters, recreational facilities etc.

Healthcare at this time is not available, but I understand that soon it maybe, how ever it will be like the dental coverage in which you pay the premiums. Right now the dental premiums for the service memeber (guard or reserve) is just over 9 dollars a month and for spouse and kids it is around 60 dollars a month.

I don't think so, but it is an issue that the Army is looking at. I know they were trying to have it so that you could have those benefits while your spouse is deployed, but not any other time. Personally I think you should have some benefits, since the terrorist attacks on our country many reserve and guard units are spending much of their time away from family. It seems only fair that their spouses and children should get the same benefits and health care that the families of active duty get.

Unless things have changed since I served, yes, spouses have entitlements. Not health care. But limited commissary and exchange privileges. But when the spouse is active, your benefits are like any other spouse of military active duty. And yes, my spouse did have an ID card, active and reserve.

If they are on active duty you are treated the same as any other military spouse.

If not, then no you aren't!
