Here are some things that can keep you from being drafted:

1-O - Conscientious Objector- conscientiously opposed to both types (combatant and non-combatant) of military training and service - fulfills his service obligation as a civilian alternative service worker.

1-A-O - Conscientious Objector - conscientiously opposed to training and military service requiring the use of arms - fulfills his service obligation in a noncombatant position within the military.
Note: A registrant making a claim for Conscientious Objection is required to appear before his local board to explain his beliefs. The local board will decide whether to grant or deny a CO classification based on the evidence a registrant has presented. A man may appeal a Local Board's decision to a Selective Service District Appeal Board. If the Appeal Board also denies his claim, but the vote is not unanimous, he may further appeal the decision to the National Appeal Board.

2-D - Ministerial Students - deferred from military service.

3-A - Hardship Deferment - deferred from military service because service would cause hardship upon his family.

4-C - Alien or Dual National - sometimes exempt from military service.

4-D - Ministers of Religion - exempted from military service.

4-F - Not Qualified for Military Service due to medical reasons.

If you are none of these then you make the decision. Run like a coward or stay. Wait it out or join. We cant tell you what to do but if you join you are more likely to be able to decide what you do in the military.

The draft has not been revisited in many years. It doesn't exist. I would never run off to Canada. With health concerns, the military won't take me. What do you think of that? By the way, I am very proud of our men and women who are serving us and keeping the American way of life. If it weren't for them, and the ones who came before them, you couldn't even have the freedom to write a question like this.

1. There is no draft.

2. Join the military if you like.

3. Run off to Canada if you like.

I've made my choice.

Serve with pride by joining by choice. Only a F*n coward would run, like our former president slick willy did. Of course there also the cases like Bush where he didn't do anything, but fly around stateside or Kerry who paid for his medals then threw them away but those are entirely different cases. Anybody who would run from the draft if it was ever reinstated deserves to be shot or publicly hung.

Don't be a p*ssy. Stay and fight for your country. If you think there is going to be a draft. Then I suggest joining. Cause they will put you in what ever branch needs you the most. If you join you will be able to pick the one you want.

There is no draft. Idiot. Please do me a favor and don't join the military. You would just be a burden on a supervisor trying to get you kicked out when he/she has other, important, issues to deal with.

If you really don't want to go to the military, why not just cut off your big toe or something. Break a leg. You want to stay close to your family and friends.
