I am about to attend a funeral. I am wearing all black...would it be appropiate to wear another color of shoes than black? Say Gold or white?

White shoes would look tacky. Gold, depending on the style might not be bad if they don't look like you're dressed for an evening at a discotheque. Black shoes would be the most appropriate in the traditional manner of funeral attire. However, today's funerals don't seem to stress those rules. I think these days people are too busy and too grief stricken to go out shopping for a new outfit when mourning the loss of a loved one. I've seen hot pink and white at a child's funeral, but I always try to stick to the traditional black. It's also what I have the most of in my closet at any time.

So it all depends on your approach to the traditional funeral attire.

My sympathies to you and the family of the deceased.

Peace.

You could wear white shoes if the black dress has white trim on it, otherwise I would wear black shoes. At a funeral you don't want to draw attention to yourself, so I think gold would be out of the question. Hope this helps.

Your shoes normally complement your outfit. If you are a relative of the deceased, I'd say get some black shoes ASAP. Otherwise, you do not need to wear all black to a funeral.

Don't wear gold shoes. Wear black shoes, and they should be simple dressy-but-modest shoes with low heels, not high-heeled sandals. Black or brown pumps with low heels and closed toes would be best. A funeral is not the place for you to display your cute sense of style and fashion. It's not about you and how you look - it's about the person who died and their family. Naturally if you don't have or can't afford any appropriate black shoes, then wear whatever other appropriate shoes you have (brown, beige, gray, or whatever), but not gold or hot-pink or sequins or high-heeled sandals or whatever.)

Only if you have gold or white as accent colors in you outfit. Black shoes are always a classic choice, though.
