Depends on the person and degree of cancer. This sounds very serious and you need to speak to the dr.
My sister, in 1984, died of colon cancer. So did my dad when he was just 30. When my sister was told, it had already been everywhere in her system. They told her the most was 3 months. She lived 2 1/2 more weeks and passed on her 34th birthday. She smoked 2 packs of Kool super longs a day also. The only part of her body without cancer was her lungs! Go fiqure.
I hope they can get and treat this cancer and perhaps there is a lot of years ahead.
BUT ask the doctor as every person and case is different.
God Bless.

You know hun, this hits home for me. My father was diagnosed with colon cancer that had spread EVERYWHERE. They gave him one month to live. Do you know what? That was 2 years ago and now he is in remission. A doctor can always tell you how long you have to live with any particular type of cancer but only your body knows when its time to go. I dont believe in life expectancies. I just believe in life...

It will all depend on the persons general state of health...that is age, nutrition, treatment going on etc.But i have a perception of poor prognosis once the cancer starts spreading on other organs especially pancreas and liver. It maybe a year or less but only God knows for sure.

Patients with stage IV disease rarely live beyond 5 years, and the median survival (meaning half the patients live longer, and half shorter) with treatment is between 1 and 2 years.
Please see the webpages for more details and images on colorectal cancer.

It totally depends on the person and their body. Whoever it is should talk to a doctor - they will have all the facts in front of them however rven then they can't be right. One of my friends mum had a brain tumour which spread - think to the bones, she was given three months....she outliled those three months by 8 months!!! Get the facts!!

Thing is Honey life is life and death is death it comes to all of us in the end...The thing you need to look at is NOT how long this person has to live BUT the quality of life YOU can help to give them whilst here..that's the most important thing ever when someone has a terminal illness they MUST live what remains of their life to the full and usually by doing this they out live all expectancy of the doctors....Just make sure this person, whom I guess is very close to you, enjoys their life whatever the time left is.

if possible get the oncologist to refer you to a surgeon who can take those areas in the liver out. then receive chemotherapy. some people can live for many years with this approach

This isn't something that can be guessed at by people with no additional info, it would depend on other factors.
Try talking to the doctor although they tend to be vague, they aren't encouraged to give a life expectancy to patients.
