i think the 16 and 14 yr old would want to have their own rooms by now, especailly the girl! by law a siblings of the oppposite sex should not be shareing rooms after the age of 5. it is ok for sibling of the same sex to share rooms til they are old enough to move out on their own! so what i am saying is the 14 yr old should have her own room by now, but the boys can still share a room! if your are on welfare and the social services found out, you can get in trouble! at least that is the NYS law

Not a 14 and 16 year old boy. They are growing up and need their space. What if their friends come over a lot of 16 year old boys and 14 year old girls want to hang out in a room.. what happens than? Bad idea.

It depends on what you can afford or what is available. By law, if there is nothing you can do about it, then there should not be a problem. I think I would get a sleeper sofa though, and have your sons sleep on it in the living room. A 14 year old girl does need her privacy, and it really doesn't look too good. And I would try like h*ll to find a house/apartment with more space.

I don't think there is a "law" governing this. Back in theday my grandfather and his brother moved from Mississippi to Tennessee to get jobs. Two families moved into one 2 bedroom house. That included 4 adults and 12 children. They did what they had to do until they could better. A year later, one family moved out and the other stayed. Today, each of the children have their own lives, their own families and their own homes. They are very appreciative and kind people. That is because they had to share and know about the struggle. Many Asians and Hispanics that move to the states have large families living in one house. An Asian friend of mine and his family of 10 lived in a three bedroom apartment.
He and his family saved money to fund their educations. 2 boys are surgeons, 1 is a gynecologist, 1 is and accountant, 1 is a pediatrician. They all help each other. So it may be beneficial if you have higher goals to better your future.

i would put the 16 year old boy and the 7 year old boy in one room and have the girl have her own room. Girls need their privacy at that age. and she might feel like she's not getting that with having an older and younger brother share a room.

no because the older ones may talk about stuff that a 7 year old should be hearing. And the girl should have her own room for girl reasons.

I would think that the girl should not be allowed to be with the boys. Otherwise I do not think that it matters how many kids in a room as long as they have there own beds.
