Not sure where you are located.. but in my area, I am able to search for cats on petfinder.com
Most of the pets on there are from animal shelters. Good luck in your search :)

Any local animal shelter. If he isn't already neutered, they might have a vet that will do the job inexpensively.
Also look for postings in markets. Sometimes people can't keep the cat for one reason or another - generally "free".

The very best place is your local animal shelter. They neuter your cat for about a third of the price and there of lots of wonderful pets that need you!

Animal Shelter, there are sooo many, and they are all waiting for you to come get them, did you know taht if you pick a older cat that he will not run away of you...
Place him in the area you would like him to return to and rub butter on his paws and up his legs...and close him up for the day and night, obviously checking up on him and giving him enough food and water....when he comes out he might roam around but he will return to the place his scent is the strongest...crazy but its always worked.

Usually, I either take in strays, cats other ppl can't keep, or get them from the shelter. Right now I have 3 females. 2 came from shelter, 1 just turned up one day. I always spay/neuter my babies & of course get their shots & routine health care. It's not too expensive.

Go to the shelter!! There are lots of kitties there that need love and homes. It's not too terribly expensive either. Much less than if you got one at a pet store.

I suggest looking at a local animal shelter or in your local newspaper. There are special programs everywhere to place loving animals in loving homes and sometimes these programs are free.
