I'll be honest, I've never had my hair colored, but most of my friends do. I'd go to the salon and have the professionals handle it. That would suck if your hair turned out a wierd color!

This product is foolproof - you can use a base color and then have complimenting highlights on top of it - it is included in the box! I'm telling you - it will work. YOU decide where to put the highlights as well. (whether you want chunky or subtle highlights) Good luck! You'll look fabulous - plus don't using lemon juice, it will dry out your hair and plus for any kind of lemon juice effect it will take a long time, and you'll just get a tan which is rough on your skin.

I'm a sandy blond (straight) guy who started turning gray at an early age. I wanted to color the gray out, and the men's products weren't too good. So I turned to the women's products. (Hey, they're all chemicals,) I tried every brand of hair color on the market. By far the best in every way are L'oreal's Excellence and Preference.

Go to a professional. You could ruin your hair and wind up suffering with the results for a long time. Better to pay a professional than to suffer from being ....shall I say "thrifty".

i suggest using a shampoo esp. for blondes. or a shine glaze, like shinehappy or john frieda. :-) its a clear glze that brightens ur hair. u could also dye it....or sit in the sun...or use lemon.
