Having clothes that are just a little too small, trying them on once a week, and gradually seeing how they get looser. A great motivator!!

Here are some tips that worked for me:
Put a picture of a hot bikini girl on your fridge (and around you house if you want). That will make you think twice when you wanna grab something out ot it.
Don't starve yourself. You won't be able to keep it up if you feel starving. Have high protein and high fiber food. Eat lots and lots of veggetables and enough fruits. Have 6-7 small meals instead of 3 big meals.
Work out. An hour a day and at least three times a week. Restricting diet alone is hardly enough. You'll feel happier and achieve a healthier attitude toward life with regular workout.
Good luck.

Pasting a "fat" photo of myself on the fridge is motivating! I stare at it before I open the fridge and it helps!
Weighing myself every morning naked is movitating! If I haven't lost (or gained) I curb what I eat that day. If I have lost, I am encouraged to keep going.
Keeping my skinny jeans around and trying them on a couple times a week is motivating. Sometimes you don't lose weight but you lose inches.
Working out at the gym is motivating. Even if you're not losing, you feel good and you feel tighter.
Low carbing is the best diet I've ever tried, it is so hard the first week after that it is easy and I never felt so good. I'm starting low carb again this week and really looking forward to it.

I've lost 33 pounds since hearing that I was pre-diabetic. It's taken about four months to go from 243 to 210. I'm using low-glycemic index diet and making sure I get a sweet treat and/or some wine or beer every day so as to not get to feeling deprived. I found a 0 net carbs white chocolate with malitol for the sweet treat and that seems to fit the bill and sates the sweet tooth.

It always helps me when my husband tells me I am looking good! But I agree that keeping a pic of your ideal body weight on the fridge is a good idea! And it helps to be on the diet with a buddy! Maybe your hubby wants to lose some weight too??

* Once you have started your weight loss program, its a great idea to weigh yourself only once a week. If you keep on weigh everyday, you will only discourage yourself. If you weigh yourself only once a week, you will be able to analyses whether you need to make change to your existing routine or not.
* Keep a photo of a heavier version of yourself in plain view. This will keep be motivating how great you look after loosing weight than you were before loosing extra pounds. It will also prevent you from sliding back into old habits.
* Once you have achieved your weigh loss goals, and then imagine what you want yourself to look like. This will give you the motivation to keep the weight off.
* Keep setting higher and higher goals for you towards your fitness. If you do not set new goal for you and work to achieve them, then you will surely run in to our bed habit. As a result, you will not be able to keep the weight off. So it’s a great idea to keep on setting new goals and get in perfect shape. As you know it’s a really tough task to keep what you have achieved than what you are looking for.
These are some of ideas that keep me motivated towards my weight loss and fitness program. There may be many more reasons for you to motivate yourself to loose weight.
