String cheese, peanut butter crackers, peanut butter inside celery sticks, baby carrots, raisins, cheese tortillas (cheese melted inside a cooked tortilla), applesauce, pepperoni slices (cold). These are the "winners" for the picky 5 year old in my life!

Cheese Quesedilla - I saw a friend of mine pop some cheese in between a tortilla and microwave it and send it off to lunch with her kids. They love it. I also remember as a kids flattening a crust-less slice of bread with a rolling pin and using either peanut butter and honey or jelly and rolling it up. It is yummy. My sister-in-law has skinny boys and wants to "fatten them up", so she actually gives them some sort of chocolate nutrition bar - possibly even slim fast. They taste like candy, but have calories and nutrition as well...

Make his food fun. Like cut his sandwich into a dinosaur shape. Make little pizzas, and use veggies to make a face, Use flatbread and put cream cheese on it. Mix food coloring into his applesauce or pudding. And possibly have him help make some of his lunch, If he sees how much fun it is to make it he might have much fun eating his lunch.

Google Gold Medal Flour, or look on package. You will find you can send away for cookbooks for children. The book is cheap. There are all sorts of creative ideas, and you will be glad you bought one.

I've found that if you can make food look silly (wacky face or animal) or colorful or have sauces to dunk food into it all suddenly becomes more interactive, fun & ultimately edible - check out recipes from familyfun.com
