im not sure how to! i dont want to hurt her but the vets is not very close and i dont drive! shes already discomforted and i dont want to take her on the bus! please help if you can thanks!

Get her her very own rectal thermometer, they sell em for $10 and less and take only 10 seconds, LOTS better than 3 minutes. Distract her with her favorite food, or with a friend to help hold her.

This is more of a two person job, don’t' use your personal thermometer (yucky), buy one for this reason only. Tie a string to it (if it’s a glass one) one person should gently hold her (so as to not let either one get scratched or bitten if she doesn’t like it) and the other goes and takes her temp. If she's really well tempered, you may be able to do it alone. Give her lots of scratches adn cuddles after so she knows she did good too. Rewards pay of! :)
