I bought a panasonic lumix on holidays in the usa last year - for some reason its only half working-everything works-but it wont let me take pics - I dont know enoug about it but I think it may be something to do with the memory card I was using - nobody in Ireland can fix are any other options open to me ?

If you suspect the memory card is the culprit, borrow a different one and try that first.
If that doesn't do the trick, your camera will have to go back to the factory for an inspection and repairs.
With a bit of luck, it's still under warranty, and Panasonic will honor your USA warranty. In this case you'll only have to pay for the postage. If the warranty is no good, things can get rather expensive - possibly to the extent that a repair doesn't make sense.
