When do you think manned spacecraft will achieve orbit in single stage?

Yes. You wouldn't catch me riding on the Shuttle. The reason it's got such a bad safety record is penny pinching. With today's technology and plenty of money we could easily build a reusable single-stage-to-orbit vehicle. Perhaps an international space programme is the answer.

Did you watch the movie "Armangedan" ?
There is a funny line about the space shuttle. It is design and built by the lowest bidder.

I think the most critical is to improve the way we pushes the shuttle into the space. That technologies must change.

On disadvantage I heard of space shuttle is the cost and efficiency. Rockets can be cheaper in sending astronauts and satellites to space than this giant space craft.

If only we did not go to Iraq, we could have so much money to build anything.

Yes, they need a bunch of big dumb rockets just like the Russians use. It is the cheapest and most reliable way to get stuff into space!!
