I think no uniforms is better on the kids and the parents b/c i live in a town where my kids go to a public school but are required to wear uniforms but the school does not provide or pay for them .I think that it should be illegal b/c it is taken away freedom in the public school system uniforms should only be required in private schools

This is a good debate. Uniforms can really affect a childs learning in a positive way, they would take a huge burden off the child by being dressed exactly like everyone else. Also off the parent for not needing to buy expensive clothes for their children going back to school. I think its a good way to help kids learn better, something they don't have to worry about.

Yes, definitely to uniforms. My kids go to private school and wear uniforms. It is wonderful. They don't have to spend hours in the morning deciding what to wear, and I don't have to spend hundreds (thousands) of dollars every school year for the "cool" clothes. I work in a public school and much of the tension between students is about clothing and shoes.

If you "NEED" to have non-uniforms because with uniforms, you can't express your personality, you're pretty damn shallow.
I say why not - school is where you go to learn. It's not supposed to be about sporting the latest fashions.

Besides, without school uniforms, pervs around the world would never have kinky thoughts about catholic school girls....

i prefer no uniforms because the uniforms seem to take away from peoples personality and they cant express themselves...but in another case it also takes away from the competition alot of kids have at school to have 'cool' or expensive brand-name clothes, but i still prefer no uniforms

Uniforms can eliminate a lot of problems. Without the peer pressure to buy expensive shoes and clothes, kids are more free to be themselves.

its better to have uniforms to avoid inequalites between school children becoz of the type of clothes they where . it would be good to allow them to ware casuals for one day in a week just to enjoy other clothes also

i think it is better for students to have to wear uniforms.it takes away the opportunity for students to wear gang colors.also it eliminates the possibilities of an assault to occur for someones clothing.
