I mean: there are some so-called smart persons who try to mix science with religion, trying to sound smart, and so on.

Are they so smart? Do they feel like understanding what everybody "cannot"?

I wouldn't like my kids to listen to such persons.

Most religion deals with the two things humans have by default - their minds and bodies. They provide metaphor anf ritual for understanding and dealing with these givens. Many religious texts make points which are purely claims about experience (phenomenological claims) or about effects of certain practices (meditation, etc.). These are often falsifiable claims, and are thus scientific. I think the vast majority of what is useful in religion can be scientifically evaluated. The great thing is, the end of such a project would eliminate religion, bringing what is useful from religion out of dogma and into the empirical field. Evidence is the most reliable way to define what people claim to "know".

People try to mix science with religion to overcome the scientific errors in religion. These people want to accept religion as true in it's entirety. They try to create a scientific theory to cover the big hole that stems from The Book of Genesis.

What people need to do is to look at and discard the parts of the scriptures that did not withstand the scientific acid test. One possibility is to look at these parts in a none literal kind of way.

I feel it's extremists that start & perpetuate cults. Any religion, or combination of religion & science, can be worshipped respectfully, or turned into a cult. It all depends on the masses, and who leads 'em.

Keeping them separate is the only way to go.

With respect to Einstein, if you read his writings, what he is talking about is the idea that science can answer certain questions, religion can answer others.

He didn't suggest that we mix the two. Actually, it's more important to know which question is best answered by which thing!

enable's see, you say to study it for your self. i do not care what your little rant says, I went properly after the source -- the Quran. Being that i'll't study or write or communicate arabic, I went to the community mosque to ask what, if any, of the english interpretations should be considered 'proper' for study. i became shown the three important english interpretations in a concordance e book -- 4 columns, unique arabic plus the three interpretations, all lined up so each and each and every sura and verse became next to at least one yet another. of direction, the arabic column became fairly ineffective for me. I thanked my handbook and went domicile to study it. the entire element, cover to cover. somewhat beautiful, even in translation, in some places. notwithstanding, so some distance because the spread of Islam is worried, i spotted that Muhammad appeared in additional effective than one position to think about this to be a thanks to peace with non-believers: a million. Convert to Islam and we can settle for you as one in all Allah's dedicated. 2. Pay the Jizya and we can promise now to not kill or attack you, yet do not assume us to precisely go out of our thanks to guard you -- we are Allah's chosen people, in case you opt for our fellowship, connect us, otherwise, we can go our way and also you go yours. And if you're actually not a Jew or Christian, nicely, you do not actually have this determination, see ideas a million and three. 3. Die as an unsubmitting infidel. to placed it particularly more effective bluntly: a million. Convert. 2. Pay jizya and be 2d type electorate. 3. Die. this isn't peace, it is terror and subjugation. Muhammad typically cases speaks of creating the international publish to Allah. If those are the purely 3 ideas, then the purely decision contained in the fashionable international is outright conflict. I agree that there are literally thousands of dedicated and non violent Muslims the international over, and that that's a minority (if good sized minority) that are causing the concern and death attributed to islam. in accordance to the muslim's own holy e book notwithstanding, the non violent are unworthy in Allah's eyes and the terrorists/martyrs are guaranteed their position in heaven. study it for your self. heavily. cover to cover. you'll locate i'm properly.

I guess on some rare occasions like Heaven's Gate, but I think for the most part science is simply a way of learning about some of God's methods, and it can, if you let it, really augment your faith.

best wishes

I wonder if there would be much of science without spirituality.
Without the metaphysics and ideas, there wouldn't be much of physics and future inventions.
