I'm a girl on 16 who noticed that sometimes my tongue can be grey/white on the top. I have a good dental hygine, brush teeth in the morning and at night and never once before had any problems with my mouth.

My older sister says its because i dont eat right(I dont eat much, but im not overweight or underweight. Perfectly average. But its not cause I'm on a diet or anything, I'm just rarely hungry)

I used a tongue brushed for a some months, but there were no signs to improvement. Anyone have any idea what causes a white tongue? Is it not eathing healthy?

Would be nice to know! Thank you.

I do not have any disease of any kind, and do not take antibiotics.
I do not smoke or drink either.

Remember when you go to Doctor and he says Ah!! He is not only check your throat he also checking your acidity. When you are to alkaline your tongue will have this white film on it. You need to cut down on the acid. Meaning soft drinks, red meats, coffee, etc. Try drinking more water and eating more veggies, fruit juice(real fruit), etc. Also stress can cause your acid levels to go up. Get some exercise and plenty of sleep and you tongue will be red in no time.

regardless of these answers you need to be seen by your family doctor. it could be thrush, babys are usually the ones to get this.can be caused by several things , babies putting things in there mouth that are dirty or after taking a prescription of anti biotics for any period of time. you just need a different kind now.sipping on buttermilk will sometimes cure this. but only if you dont mind the buttermilk! second it could be you have an upset stomach, which in turn your sister could be on to something. Let you doctor decide what is a good weight for you . not your friends .

Do you take antibiotics? Too much can cause a reaction known as thrash or thrush, not sure about the spelling. On way to help restore the good bacteria is to eat yogurt, especially with active cultures.

Does your breath stink?

Thrush is what it is. No big deal. Try brushing it off with your tooth brush or scraping it off, it most likely will grow back.
It can grow if you use certain medications. It can grow easily if you are sick. It is not usually a big deal.

It could be thrush, a very common oral infection. See your GP for a course of antibiotics. Do you have asthma and take a steroid inhaler? That's a sure way of getting thrush.

could be a sign of dehydration. Continue cleaning, brushing. Drink water and visit your dentist if it doesn't clear.

Everything of the best:-)

Do you drink enough water? Do you smoke or drink alcohol?

Not drinking enough water can make your mouth funny, have you tried using mouthwashes as well? Listerine is very good

It could be oral thrush. Nothing to worry about really but it can be cleared up with medicine from your doctor.

It sounds like thrush. You will need to see your dentist, he/she will prescribe either an oral cream or lozenges, its nothing to worry about.
