The one you can't have.....

That's a very loose question, and everybody will have their favorites.

I like Titus Racer-X, specially the ExoGrid (carbon fiber under a titanium exo). Also Jeff Jones makes some AMAZING bikes (I think he has a wait list over a year). Turner Flux is also pretty good.

What's your budget, since this bikes could set you from anywhere around $3,000 to 10,000 bucks.

An "XC" is a road and gravel road bike that can handle dirt trails, but should not be used for jumping.

It is far faster on hills than the full suspension bike because of its lighter weight.

The best one:

Will be the one that you have test driven about 5 times at the BIKE STORE, comparing it to others, but. . .this one seems faster than all the rest, plus more comfortable and makes you really grin.

It will also be highly reviewed at mtbr.com

However, the best one is most certainly the one that fits the best--all other considerations are secondary.

Personally, I ride Kona. I really put my bikes through a lot and I do not have any complaints. Here is a link that you can check out Kona bikes. They have started to come out with the 2007 versions.
