I was diagnosed with IBS, and nothing seems to help. Not the medication, laxatives, a high fiber diet, stool softners, nothing. Some weeks I'm fine, but for some reason other's I'm not, and I don't change my diet. I'm completely miserable, does anyone hace suggestions? Laxatives were my last shot, and that didn't work.

Low carbing has completely reversed many with IBS. This plus taking magnesium for the constipation. You will be amazed at how great you feel. Often it's the high carbs that cause gastric distress and people don't realize this. I haven't had heart burn in 2 1/2 years and no symptoms of my IBS. Since you have tried most everything else this might work.

Start by not eating white things like rice, potatoes, white flour, pasta etc. Get some books on the subject and try it for at least a couple of months. It isn't a diet but a lifestyle change.
