I live on the Illinois side.
My best friend lives in STL and is getting married in October. We found the best bridal salon on South Hampton, Clarice's Bridal (www.claricesbridal.com). She got her dress for about $450 (and the bridesmaids got a discount since the bride got her dress there).
As for a cake she went to MacArthurs.
I would suggest you get fake flowers at a craft store, Hobby Lobby or Michael's.
If you have any more questions feel free to email me LRALOU8_2005@yahoo.com

I live in Lake St. Louis and may be able to help. First a few questions:
* When are you planning on getting married?
* What is your budget?
* Which dress are you looking for? I have associates across the country that may be able to get your dress at discount.
* Are you the crafty type? If so, you could make your flowers and favors. If not, I could probably help you with an alternative (I'm a former Instructor/Event Coordinator for Michael's).
* What kind of cake are you wanting?
Let me know as soon as possible if you need my assistance. The sooner we start, the more relaxed you will become!

For favors, cake tops, tiaras, flower baskets, ring pillows, rose petals, and all the rest of that stuff I went to www.customweddingsolutions.com. They were very helpful and had great prices. I didn't need to use it, but they also have a very good return policy. Plus, you can shop from home :-) Ebay is ok, but you never know what you will get and returns are TERRIBLE.

For favors look online at US Toy or Oriental Trading. For other stuff for the wedding check Wal-Mart (a big one); they have most of the same stuff wedding stores do at better prices. For a dress go to David's and check clearance rack, shoes go to payless, no one sees your shoes. Check Children's Place (outlet at the mills?) for dresses for flower girl. Rings--if you are going for bands only go to Wal-Mart or Sam's. Flowers-do your own with an online wholesale florist (I did my own, all hydrangeas, $200 total, very theraputic before wedding), and cupcakes are HOT for weddings now--or get a classic, simple cake from Sam's. Sam's cake is pretty good and amazingly inexpensive. Decor with flowers. Also--enjoy and don't freak out. The day goes really quick!
