i am planning a wedding and i want to know about what i need to save.

my sone to be mother inlaw is going to pay and make the food. we are getting married at a friend back yard and have the party there 2 and we are not takeing a honeymoon right now.

Actually it sounds very similar to my wedding. We spent about 5000. If you have enough time to plan you can spend much less (or more). Get your dress a year in advance when the season is over, this way you can get a beautiful gown right off the rack for sometimes up to 70% off. *My dress was originally priced at $1500. I got it for $200* Yes, it's last years style, but no one will know if you don't tell. Shop around as much as you can to get the best price. *The first place we went wasted $1000 for our rings. I'm going to be in my cousins wedding, which is in Jamaica.
My dress is from the store in the Mall called "Cache", and it was seriously 400$. That was just my dress, this girl wants a designer wedding gown.
And plus the hotel rooms, airfare, food, flowers from the carribbean, and every other service, I wouldnt be surprised if this thing totaled over 30 grand.
I'm afraid to see the bridal registry

Our wedding was about $25,000 w/the honeymoon (probably $5k on the honeymoon alone). We got about half that from our parents and saved the rest, it actually took a lot of effort to save that much for just one day. I guess I think it was worth it, it was awesome, best day of my life.

With every single little detail- like my dress, the invites, bridemaids gifts, photographer, hall, cater, church fees, flowers, rehershal dinner, accessories, hair and makeup.....
It's all adding up... Oh and with the honeymoom...
It's costing about 20,000 and we get the pay the whole thing!
You figure 10,000 for just food and then after that you have to add up all the little details. It's easy to spend $20 there and $40 there... and it ads up quickly!

we were going to spend about 10,000 on our wedding but we are up to 15,000 and we only booked the hall so we will probobly be in the 25,000 range.

well i haven't had my wedding yet. but I'm sure the most i will spend will be about $500.00 not sure what i'll spend that on but I know that i will spend $500.00 on something. good luck
