I loved all the penny chews like the pink shrimps, flying saucers, fruit salads, cola bottles, fried eggs, chocolate cups........ It was heaven when my mum gave me 10p so I could get my own sweeties, I would be the newsagents for hours choosing.....

OMG gr8 question!! There are soooo many i find it really hard to choose but some of them include cola bars, wham bars, fizzy chewits, milk teeth, the pink and white vampires teeth ooh and those giant strawberries. OOH i just remembered about those big red flat lollies you used to get that were shaped like a cats face or something similar?? All YUUUMMMMMYYY!!!

There were so many to name a few LuckyTattie,Gobstoppers,Rhubarb Rock,etc.but the best of all was Puff Candy as it was on top of the glass shelves we asked miser George the greedy shoppie man for an apple which he kept outside we would then nick a lump and run,my it tasted good mmm!

My Mom use to make fresh empanadas.......yum,yum. Growing up Mexican had its tasty delights...for those of you who don't know what this is Ill explain: a sweetly wrapped pastry that has usually pumpkin filling or other fruit delites inside ...its shaped much like a sealed taco with curled edges....best served hot but goes well with milk or hot chocolate!!!!Yummmmmmmm!!!

I loved some little strawberry shaped sweets which had strawberry flavoured liquid inside. Can't remember what they were called and haven't seen any for about forty years.

Flying saucers - sherbet in a pink flying saucer shaped wafer. Also something they used to call coconut candy - similar to coconut ice. Honeycomb.
