Nothing will happen to her insurance, but depending upon which state you're in, you may have some issues when getting insured or registered.
In Texas, we can get the ticket "expunged" from our records by getting "deferred adjudication", which means that - as long as we keep our noses clean for 90 days and pay our fines, the tickets don't go on our records.
You may wish to ask the court if that is a possibility in this case.
But, to answer your question, your mother does not suffer the consequences of her lead-footed child - even though it was her car. YOU are the one on whose record the ticket will appear - you just happened to be in your mom's car.

As for the cost of a speeding ticket, it depends on how fast over the speed limit you were going (at least it does in my neck of the woods). Obviously, the faster you were going, the more you get slammed. The fee should be listed on the ticket so check it out.
As for the insurance, it won't go up if you go to traffic school (it gets taken off your record faster too I believe). Most metro area traffic schools actually have an online version of traffic school which you can opt for instead of having to actually sit in a class room. It's faster and you don't have to do it all in one sitting.
Good luck & I hope your mother is not too pist.

I've had 4 speeding tickets and my insurance hasn't budged at all.
I think I've been with my agent for almost 20 years and he doesn't want to pull up my driving record to verify my speeding tickets.
If I left my insurance company, I would be raped due to the speeding tickets so I have incentive to remain with my current agent.
I have had 0 accidents during this span.

If you're an insured under her policy and her insurance finds out about the ticket, the policy will be surcharged. If you have your own insurance, expect the same thing.
