My daughter is a little over a year old but she has a bad habit of taking her diapers off, after she dirties them. She doesn't walk yet but, she can pull her self up and climb up on her little chair that sits on the floor. I was wondering if it would be to early to start potty training her? When is a good time to start potty training?

Potty training a girl can be a daunting task for any parent. This holds especially true if the father is the one doing the training. Most parents wonder where to start. The trick to successful potty training is making it fun. Celebrate the training and, especially, the victories. Have some sort of reward system in place so that your little girl gets rewarded for using the toilet like a big girl. By making training fun, your little girl will begin using the toilet in no time and you’ll proudly be able to say that you finally changed your last diaper.

When beginning potty training for a girl, you must first show her what you expect of her. This can be done by watching mommy. If that is uncomfortable, or a single father is doing the training, then there are other options as well. Many products are available today for the sole purpose of teaching potty training. Items used for successful potty training include potty training dolls, videos, audio tapes, books as well as specially made plastic toilets. Each of these items has their advantages and using them in combination will more than likely bring quick results. The best part is that each of these items is designed to make potty training fun.

When potty training a girl, not only must you show her that she has to sit down but you must also show her to wipe. The videos and books are great for teaching her how to do this.

A great idea when potty training a girl is to have a plastic potty training toilet in some part of the house. These are great because some children are intimidated by having to use the “adult” toilet. They may fear falling in or maybe they’re just intimidated by its size. Whatever the reason, by having a smaller, plastic toilet, she will begin to feel that it is hers. She will want to use it. Have some toilet paper handy near the toilet so that she remembers to wipe when she is finished.

When she goes, celebrate it. Give her plenty of praise and reward her with something. By having a reward system in place, she will want to use the toilet. Remember, when potty training a girl, make it fun. Make her want to do good; pretty soon, you’ll be able to throw out those diapers for good.

When she has accidents, don’t scold her. Everyone makes mistakes. Just view it as a stepping stone, a necessary aspect of learning and get right back to training. Sometimes, a setback can be used as a training tool and you can turn the negatives into positives and your child won’t hinder progress by being too hard on herself.

When potty training a girl, make it fun, reward her when she does good and never scold her for having an accident. Children don’t think of it as learning when they’re having fun. If you’re short on ideas, go out and buy a book on the subject or one of the many products designed for potty training your child. Potty training a girl doesn’t have to be a scary subject. It can and should be fun. Soon, your little girl will be all grown up and you’ll find you miss many things; more than likely, dirty diapers aren’t one of them.

Potty training is actually an interesting phenomenon. You may be wondering what exactly potty training is all about or how exactly is it carried out; you may even be wondering when exactly can you start potty training your child; I've got good news for you, potty training is actually a very simple concept and can be carried out earlier than you think, more so, it is also a much easier process than anticipated.

Potty training is an act of teaching the child how to use the toilet, beginning from the potty. The potty is a specially designed for the convenience of babies and toddlers. From birth, a child will be expected to poo and wee in their diapers for two reasons. One is that they can't walk to the toilet nor sit on a toilet sit; the second is that they cannot talk to indicate when they are pressed. Some parents start potty training once the child can sit on his or her own. The idea is to get the child used to sitting on the potty; so they put the child on the potty first thing in the morning so that they do their first wee or poo in it. After a while the child understands that potty is for wee or poo.

More progress can made once a child begins to walk and talk a little; At this stage, the child is basically ready to be fully potty trained. The basic principle for potty training is that children can easily be molded into routines; this means you can easily get a child to get into a defined set of activities. With this basic principle you can thus easily mold your child into going to the potty via a routine method.

Potty training is a big step for kids and parents. The secret to success? Patience — perhaps more patience than you ever imagined.

Potty-training success hinges on physical and emotional readiness, not a specific age. Many kids show interest in potty training by age 2, but others might not be ready until age 2 1/2 or even older — and there's no rush. If you start potty training too early, it might take longer to train your child. Carwyn turbo potty training can be helpful in this case.

I potty trained my little one quite early as well. I researched and saw that she was displaying all the signs. The main one that you mentioned above about being uncomfortable and aware that she is able to solve the discomfort by taking the diaper off. Tons of people told me not to train her that early but I decided to try anyway. She was a little over a year as well. It took me almost 2 weeks after lots of research and settling on a plan. We shopped for panties that she picked out and got stickers, etc. It did work without many mistakes after, but I wished I would have found this program I saw on the web before I did because a lot of the things that I found that worked through trial and error during the week could have possibly helped me train her even faster. The system says it can be done in 3 days... my almost 2 weeks seemed like forever even though everyone told me that it was a pretty short time to be fully trained... lol! I would say go for it Mommy.... What do you have to loose.... except diapers?

I don’t normally comment here on yahoo, but I have an experience I’d

like to share that will hopefully help others in a similar position as

myself. I know how it feels to buy and try all these different things.

It can get really annoying! We recently started to potty train my

daughter (Emily) any

time my husband and I tried to "potty train" my daughter it seemed

like nothing was working! I did A LOT (let me tell you) lol of

searching and found this site

called PottyTraining101.cf which allowed me to potty train my daughter

quickly and calmly. As it turns out, me and my husband were not using

the correct techniques. But I can now happily say that I no longer

worry about her, she is now fully potty trained. I have even

recommended it to family members and friends. If anyone is in a

similar position, I recommend using www. PottyTraining101.cf

I started potty training my son when he was 1 1/2 yrs. old. We worked on it for about 6 months, by his 2nd birthday he was fully potty trained. Some people say I started too early - I don't think so. Some people say they do it when they are ready, if you think she may be ready - it won't hurt to try. My nephew is 3 years old and still isn't ready. Good Luck!

By showing you how potty training can be
easy... If you follow a proven plan.

Most parents potty train using trial and
error and *prolong* potty training by months
instead of just days if they had used a
proven plan.

It’s not an age question, but rather a READINESS one.

These are some of the signs suggesting your child is ready:

Broadcast bodily functions- Tell you when a bowel movement is about to strike.
Despise dirty diapers- bugged by their soiled nappies and want to escape them ASAP-> Great opportunity for you to start potty training.
Demands live demonstration- He wants to learn from the best (you) so he’ll follow you to the bathroom and demand to watch- it’s OK and marks another step towards his readiness for the potty training process

Good luck!!
