A plant.
Pictures of Family and or friends.
Something that plays your favorite music(MP3player, cd player, etc.)
Good books or magazines that show an interest that you have.
A comfortable chair.
Candles that smell great.
A throw blanket.
Put all together they make a small place to be away from the world. Somewhere to be able to collect your thoughts and destress. :-)

Wonderful art that makes you happy to look at ALWAYS. Good art does NOT match your couch! Art that expresses YOU, your personality, taste, moods...art that lowers your blood pressure or excites you. I also agree with the beer, cigs and tv...lol! Toilet paper is a must, too. If it snows, all you need is cigs, beer, tv, tp, and COFFEE! Oh, and BOOKS! Gota have books! They are art of themselves. If you don't read, get books that have gorgeous or interesting spines. They add warmth to a home. My daughter has a fantastic idea..I love this. She buys used cheap books with interesting titles that make "sentences" or "messages" when she stacks them together. Awesome. Ain't she smart?

Vases, pictures, decorative lamps, window treatments, rugs, and little things to put on shelves, like candles and things that have been passed down through your family, that are important to you! Good luck, and I hope that helps!
