That's what Lenin, Stalin, Mao, and Fidel thought! Look at the success of their leadership--what excellent role models for atheism. Or perhaps a more darwinistic approach, along with eugenics (as Hitler embraced), would be more appealing to the atheist community. So many believe that they should just abort or euthanise anyone "unacceptable" or "undesirable". Yes, atheism has really contributed to philosophies with some interesting values in society. For me, I'd rather stick with the "love your neighbour as yourself" bunch, even if they frequently fail to do so. Even if they agree that there is a difficult God that demands things to be right and judges harshly. At least if they're trying; it's far better than subscribing to the culture of death that perpetuates the lie of a meaningless existence for all.

I think the intolerance and control that religion seems to breed in the egos and minds of humanity itself is the cancer. Religion in and of itself does nothing, but the negative use it seems to be getting to justify every bad act by man is insane. No God has ever wanted his children to kill one another to make them believe one religion over another.

interesting theory. i don't know if i would dissagree. except that cancer is malignant where as religion, if we the humans of earth choose to stop, then the spread of religion will stop. also don't fail to realize that with rise comes fall. When one religion spreads another religion shrinks.

If you mean that Christianity is spreading all over the world like Cancer does, then yes. If you mean that it is killing thousands of people a year, then no. Christianity is healing thousands a year, and giving them the gift of eternal life with God.

So did Marx (NOT GROUCHO). He called it the "opiate of the people". Are you a Communist? That's a great belief system and if you do then move to Cuba. Oh, you don't want to move?
