OK. What about Santa Claus coming down the chimney and the easter bunny dropping off plastic eggs? Are those lies ok?

Christians not only lie to their children but they also lie to everyone else who is stupid enough to listen.American election? Enough said.

We don't do Santa and don't do the easter bunny, or tooth fairy, etc. If I give my child a gift, I let her know who it is from, whether me and my husband or her grandparents. Not really into Santa or any of that. I wasn't raised in a Christian home, and even before I got saved, when I found out Santa wasn't real, I felt lied to and betrayed. I didn't want to do the same to my children.

When she gets older I will teach her that my husband and I are able to give her gifts because the Lord provides for us. I will also teach her that it is also so important to be wise with what God gives us and we need to be good stewards of it, and take care of whatever it is.

When she gets a little older, I want her to be able to come shopping with me on her birthday or Christmas and pick out some things that she would like to have, but only for a child that doesn't have anything. She would get something too, but I also want her to know and see us as parents and Christians that give our best to those that don't have. That we shouldn't reserve the best for ourselves and use the second hand for those we want to see Jesus in us.

Hey I have an idea, why don't you become a Muslim and kill Christians since you hate them so much?

See, there is a religion for every one...Even hateful people like you!

And no I don't practice religion, I just have fun pointing out the misguided petty hatreds in people...Just like you.

Thanks for doing your little part to make the world a worse place than it already is....You think parents brining joy to their children with the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus is the problem??? I think you should take a long hard look in the mirror first.

The word tells us to hear swiftly and to answer slowly, so you have to use wisdom when talking with your kids. If your child ask you something that you feel you would have to lie about just simply tell them you cannot answer there question right now because you don't want to lie to them. I don't think that you should lie to your kids or anyone for that matter. A lie is an intent to deceive and Satan is the father of all lies.

White lies are not sins: Keep the children young as they will be adults far too soon. Santa, Jack and the Beanstalk, the Three Pigs, etc., are all experiences of growing up. Children know that they are not really true, or at least figure it out in time. It does not leave them marked for life - it leaves wonderful memories for later on. As I type, I can well remember sitting up in bed until after midnight on Christmas awaiting Father Christmas and the hope of seeing him. I was aged no more than four or five. I am now 65 and the memory still makes me warm and comfortable. So please, please allow the children to be children for as long as possible. By all means tell them 'fibs' - Jesus will forgive you instantly - He would not mind in the least if you make His birthday a truly happy memory for the young............

I don't believe you should ever lie to your children. My child enjoyed the thought of Santa and Easter ect... But he knew they were not real. He brings the same truth to my grandchildren. My family tries to teach our children that the blessings we receive in life come from the Lord. Children love fairy tales and stories and I don't believe there is anything wrong in this, I believe you just have to let them know that all it is is stories. God Bless You.

No, it's not okay but I do it anyway. When my oldest daughter asked me if the Tooth Fairy was real, I asked her to be sure that she wanted to know the truth before asking again. She asked me again and I told her the truth. I know that I'm wrong to lie to my kids about such things but nothing that you or anyone else can say to me will change the way I raise my children. That's for me to have to answer to one day soon when I stand before Jesus.

And just for your information, Christians aren't the only ones who "believe" in Santa, the Tooth Fairy, etc.

That question is a bit open. Lying is never good, but what are you talking about? Telling stories about the stork and tooth fairy? Those aren't exactly lies - more like legends of childhood. If simplifying things and bringing them down to a child's level by leaving some stuff out is lying, then you and I disagree on the concept of "lying." But telling a child mean, evil things is most certainly not okay.

NO! Always be honest with your child never lie. B/c if they found out that you lied than they'll never trust anything else you say. Basicly, it depends what it is. If it is for the better than yes you can. But if it's not than tell the truth. If you don't tell them the truth now your going to have to do it sooner or later. Rather sooner than later.

Yes. The two you listed are perfect examples of acceptable "lies" every parent tells to their children. Nothing wrong with it - it's just part of life. Get over it.

All shall say that it is not ok to lie to your children.

However, I wish to point out that the Bush administration has been giving money to abstinence programs. A recent study ffound that of 11 places polled, 10 gave erroneous information that abortions lead to a higher risk of breast cancer and depression, to a girl posing as a 17yo looking for information.... So, while they say its not right to lie, they do it anyways....
