You actually want to see a podiatrist for plantar warts, not just your normal doctor. The treatment won't necessarily hurt (it didn't hurt when they froze mine) and because it sounds like they're spreading, you are likely long past the point where over the counter treatments will help.
DO NOT scrape them off. Not only will it not help, it can cause other infections

Sorry, but scraping them off won't help. The warts are due to a virus, and the wart that you see is only part of the infection. You should really go to a podiatrist. They can cut out the warts, or use an acid treatment on them. Neither of those two options really hurt (I've had them both done). The virus is also very infectious, so anyone who walks where you walk, or uses the same shower is at risk for infection, too. Get it taken care of.

I advise you to see a podiatrist because trying to take care of the problem yourself may cause a serious infection which will be more painful and certainly more dangerous and costly in the long run. The doctor will cause you the least pain possible with the best chance of preventing a very painful and dangerous infection.

Your already in pain!! Go to the doctor and get them removed. Isn't it worth a little pain for a short while then to keep the warts and have CONSTANT pain?

They have over the counter medication that you just paint onto them. It doesn't hurt and it's effective. I want to say it's called Compound W? Get the extra strength kind. Good luck with that. If it doesn't work, go to the doctor. Explain that you don't want them frozen off cause it hurts, and they might give you a prescription creme or something to kill the fungus.

Those things go deep and even under the best medical conditions one or more may require further treatment. Go to a dermatologist or a surgeon.
