DON'T QUIT! You can do this. You will feel pretty crappy for a while but you will get better if you keep working at it. :)

If you are not good at soccer this year, then maybe you haven't had enough time to recover.
You could keep going to practice -- your speed should improve sooner or later. Or you could quit this season, train on your own (if you are self-disciplined enough to do this), and try out again next year when you are in better shape.
I think that you are better off in the long run if you stay on the team and keep practicing until your speed improves. Only practice will make you better.

It will take time to heal and recover. But ask yourself why you are doing it. Do you really LOVE soccer? If you're doing it for others, like everyone expects you to play soccer, but deep down you don't want to play soccer, then it's OK to quit. Maybe there is something else you'd rather be doing. Just wondering.
Love, Jack.

First off, congratulations for getting back out there and secondly cut yourself some slack! Put yourself in your teammates shoes -- what if one of them was trying to come back after an injury. Would you expect them to be in top shape right away? Wouldn't you want to help support them to improve and regain their strength to help the team.
I'm sure that you are getting better and stronger every day, it's just hard to see sometimes. Please hang in there and give yourself a chance!

First of all give yourself time to heal, take it slow. With the proper diet and exercise you will lose the weight that you gained. Dont give up. Talk to your doctor and maybe he can help you get started. Good luck. Dont quit. Quiters never win......

Don't be so tough on yourself. It's normal and it could happen to just anyone. At least you're trying and you should give yourself some credit for that.

Don't give up....how long did it take you to get to your best? It certainly wasn't overnight. I know it's' hard but you'll get there and you'll be better then you were before because of this hardship. "What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger".
