According to my Catholic teaching, Hosanna is a praise
to God, "Hosanna" in the highest, I believe it is a form of
alleluja.

Hosanna, is the cry of praise or adoration shouted in recognition of the Messiahship of Jesus on his entry into Jerusalem (Matt. 21:9, 5; Mark 11:9 sq.; John 12:13).

Dear Candy.

The Word “Hosanna”, expressed sin some biblical contexts such as Mt 21:9 Mr 11:9 – among others, does not refer to a person or character.

It is an expression taken from the original Hebrew language (Ho•sán•na) which literally means “save us/me, I/we beg [you]”

This expression was used in some occasions to ask Jesus to favor the believers.

I don't think anyone is named that. The word is used in praise and worship of God. It means something along the lines of "You are my Help in time of need." It can also be a call for help.
