Well first of all is this like a
"Sister" Friend,
"Girl you wanna ****" Friend,
OR a
"Girl you are in love with" Friend ??
That makes a difference.
Well first of all since she's from Mexico and you appear to be Latino also from looking at your 360 page..
I reccomend La Placita Olvera:

I love it there it's fun and romantic - and feels just like Mexico.
Especially if she is going to be here for Labor Day or for Sept. 16
Also I reccomend The Grand Avenue (club) for dancing, drinks, etc. They play Reggaeton, Punta, Salsa on Fridays (with HipHop in the second room) and HipHop on Saturdays (with Reggaeton in the second room). I'm sure you've heard of it - it's the most popular club for Blacks and Latinos in Los Angeles. It's downtown. Crowded, popular, good hot spot.

If she's going to be here this Sunday for Labor Day take her to Vertigos (also downtown) they are a bit smaller and nicer than the Grand and also have a Reggaeton night this Sunday for Labor Day. They usually play weird music though so don't go without checking first. Last time I was there the crowd was almost ALL Latino couples. It was great.

I can't find their freaking website or menu but that doesn't matter. Go there. It's in the mountains and it has a beautiful view. You can see the whole city.
I reccomend Citywalk too.. Not Universal Studios because it's not worth it. Don't even bother. But Citywalk which is right outside. They have arcade, shopping, restaurants, bars, dancing, movie theatre. You could go see a movie, have dinner at Camachos watch the mariachi show on a Saturday night, and then go dancing at The Rumba Room. They have salsa, merengue, and cumbia.

http://www.camachosinc.com/basic.htm
(That's the site for both Camacho's Restaurant AND the Rumba Room)
Or Santa Monica Pier and you can go on the rides, walk around, swim, eat, whatever. There's a Camacho's there also. haha. AND they have ANOTHER club in City of Industry that's supposed to be really nice also.
And there's always Vegas.

I don't like the touristy places, but if this is her first time in LA, then I guess Disney or Universal Studios can be an exception. You can also take her down Rodeo Drive, if she likes shopping (high end), or Melrose (good deals and very fashionable). You can also go to Sunset for more shopping and eating. If she is the mall-type, then the Beverly Center is a good place. I always see Pam Anderson there (for some reason), and occasionally other actors/actresses. Citywalk is also fun and kitchy, but it's really getting saturated by lots of people (very crowded).

If you are looking for some places off the beaten path, try starting @ Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. From there it's a short walk to Shoreline Village for a bite to eat. You can take a drive either down the coast to Seal Beach with it's quaint shops or go up the coast to Palos Verdes. There is a secluded beach in Palos Verdes called Abalone Cove that is some of the best sunbathing, swimming, and snorkeling between Laguna Beach and Santa Barbara.....then to wrap it up, you can take her to the Redondo Beach Pier for some great food then to Naja's for a drink and listen to their awsome band, The Blues Sharks.

You might try Medieval Times, it's right near Knott's Berry Farm.
I think Universal Citywalk is good, too.

One of the beaches in the area? Pasadena is nice - lots of nice shops and resturants. The Huntington Library in Pasadena has great gardens - and high tea!

I think the person with the bear (not elmo but close to elmo) gives a very accurate answer. Read no further.
