It's absolutely the right thing to wait. Personally I think people should wait until they're married, but if you choose not to do that then I think you should wait until you know that you truly love each other. Casual sex is no good

are you legally old enough ? if so there is no time limit for a couple to wait for to have sex, just holding hands kissing is enough to be getting on with, but if you want to progress to the next stage talk it over with each other first
