Breath of Life + Dust of the ground = Living soul

Genesis 2:7
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

So let's have blue represent the breath and red represent the dust. Mix them together and you'll get purple and let's have that represent the soul. Red is part of the formula to make purple. Taking the soul away from the body would be like trying to take purple out of red. Isn't that right?

Why do some people play with words to satify their beliefs? When John3:16 said ye sahll not peish but have everlasting life, it really means it. It said "perish" not get "tormented"

You're right on the money. The body itself is the soul: "and man BECAME a living soul." It doesn't say he 'came to have a living soul.'

And the "breath of life" is the spirit (ru'ach in the original text). They form a living creature. That is why the Bible says "His spirit (or breath of life) goes out, he goes back to the ground. In that day his thoughts do perish." There is no immortal soul that lives eternal: "His thoughts do perish."

No that isn't quite right - the breath of life is the soul given to the dust of the ground. Take away the dust of the ground and you still have the breath of life and soul. Spirit is always present and always living, even if the body dies, spirit lives on.

no...breath of life=living soul. dust of the ground=body. body+soul=man. you meant trying to take red out of purple.

Yes, it is part of the Soul... Body + Spirit = Soul. It's not Interchangeable with Spirit... you don't see people saying "The Holy SOUL indwells in me". ^_^

The body is just the temporal placement for our souls. Once we die we leave the body from whence it came. Which is the ground. Our souls continue onward.

Humans have a body, a soul and spirit. The body is the house for the soul/spirit to live in while on earth. Physical death is separation of the soul/spirit from the physical body. Spiritual death is the separation of the soul/spirit from God. Are you ready for eternity?
We Are All Eternal Creatures With An Eternal Destiny!

It is sad to have to say it. Most people do not have the first clue where they are going to spend eternity. Hopefully, from what you will read here, you will not be one of them.
Life is short. Eternity is forever. We are all headed to eternity. It is not a myth. It is a fact. Eternity awaits us all. Whether we like it or not, God created all of us as eternal creatures. God gave us all an eternal soul/spirit that will be in conscious existence throughout eternity. Your soul/spirit can never be eliminated, extinguished, annihilated or destroyed. Even the fires of hell cannot extinguish the human soul/spirit. Your soul/spirit will go either to be with God forever in heaven or to hell separated from God forever. Either God is waiting for us to be with Him in eternity in heaven or Satan is waiting for us to be with him in hell for eternity. Which will it be for you?
Heaven is a good place to be. Hell is not. Heaven is a holy, sinless, peaceful, blissful place where there will be no more sin, death, sorrow, suffering, hatred, fear, punishment, liars, thieves, rapist, or murderers. There will only peace, harmony and joy in heaven.
Hell is exactly the opposite of heaven. Hell is a place where people will be treated the way they treated God and their fellowman when they were on this earth. Those who took advantage of others and those who led others astray from God will be treated the worst in hell. They will receive punishment proportional to how mean, hateful and despiteful they were.
One split second after you die (your soul/spirit leaves your body) you will know which side of eternity you are on. If we are then not on the right side of eternity, it will be too late to do anything about it.
Most people assume: "If there is a heaven, I am good enough to go there." Few people blatantly, seriously state: "If there is a hell, I'm going there."
God put us here on this earth for us to make preparation to spend eternity with Him in heaven. We must search out and accept His offer and His terms of salvation or we will regret it forever in hell. It cannot be stated any plainer than that.
The only way you can be saved from your sins and go to heaven when you die is to acknowledge that the blood Jesus Christ shed for you at Calvary is the only thing that can forgive, cleanse and remove all your sins from you. You must acknowledge that you are a sinner needing to be saved from your sins. (Romans 3:23 “ 23For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” in The holy Bible.) and ask Jesus Christ to forgive, remove and cleanse you from all your sins and repent of your sins (turn from your sins) to live for Him the rest of your life. You must invite Jesus Christ to come into your heart/life to live there forever. (John 1:12 “ But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” in The Holy Bible.) You must give your heart/life to Him to live for Him day by day the rest of your life. This is what it means to be spiritually born again. (John3:3 “ Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”) in The Holy Bible.) This is God's desire, plan and will for you. (II Peter 3:9 “ 9The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”in The Holy Bible.)
Remember!
Salvation is a free gift. You cannot work for it. You cannot be good enough to earn it. You must, by faith, receive it as a free gift. (“8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast.”) Ephesians 2:8-9.
I hope you will follow through on all the above and know that when you go out into eternity that you will be on the right side of eternity. This is my prayer for you.
