Top Ten Signs You're a Fundamentalist Christian
10 - You vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but feel outraged when someone denies the existence of yours.
9 - You feel insulted and "dehumanized" when scientists say that people evolved from other life forms, but you have no problem with the Biblical claim that we were created from dirt
8 - You laugh at polytheists, but you have no problem believing in a Triune God
7 - Your face turns purple when you hear of the "atrocities" attributed to Allah, but you don't even flinch when hearing about how God/Jehovah slaughtered all the babies of Egypt in "Exodus" and ordered the elimination of entire ethnic groups in "Joshua" including women, children, and trees!

6 - You laugh at Hindu beliefs that deify humans, and Greek claims about gods sleeping with women, but you have no problem believing that the Holy Spirit impregnated Mary, who then gave birth to a man-god who got killed, came back to life and then ascended into the sky.

5 - You are willing to spend your life looking for little loopholes in the scientifically established age of Earth (few billion years), but you find nothing wrong with believing dates recorded by Bronze Age tribesmen sitting in their tents and guessing that Earth is a few generations old.

4 - You believe that the entire population of this planet with the exception of those who share your beliefs -- though excluding those in all rival sects - will spend Eternity in an infinite Hell of Suffering. And yet consider your religion the most "tolerant" and "loving."

3 - While modern science, history, geology, biology, and physics have failed to convince you otherwise, some idiot rolling around on the floor speaking in "tongues" may be all the evidence you need to "prove" Christianity.

2 - You define 0.01% as a "high success rate" when it comes to answered prayers. You consider that to be evidence that prayer works. And you think that the remaining 99.99% FAILURE was simply the will of God.

1 - You actually know a lot less than many atheists and agnostics do about the Bible, Christianity, and church history - but still call yourself a Christian

Dear pangel,

Your conscience is NOT God Almighty. If you will go to Revelation 22:18, 19 and read these verses you will understand that the Lord is not adding to His word (the Bible). When the last verses of Revelation were penned, that completed the word of God. There would be no more verbalized messages or visions from the Lord! So now you can understand the reason why people speaking in tongues or seeing visions of "god" are not from the Lord! The Lord will never break His commandments or testimonies. People who follow tongues or visions have been deceived by satan who caomes as an angel of light. These so called "miraculous" healings also are a sham! Christ never charged anyone for healing, so why do these "healers" do so?
Pangel the best thing for anyone to do is to read the Bible! Read it slowly and prayerfully, asking the Lord fro mercy, understanding, and obedience to His word. In 1 John 2:3, 4 we read, "Hereby we do know that we know him if we keep his commandments. He that saith I know him and keepeth not his commandments is a liar and the truth is not in him." Know him implies that one has been born from above (John 3). If one is born from above (saved), that individual will have a great desire to be obedient to the Lords commandments (the whole Bible). That individual will love the word of God because that is the bread that nouishes the hungry soul. We are so close to the second coming of Christ (Judgment Day + end of the world). I have left a website for you to look at if you have interest.

I agree with you; God gave us our conscience. The bible says that those who continually sin, however, have their consciences "seared", meaning, that "voice" that tells you "don't do that" pretty much stops...you've sinned so many times, and refused the correction. God, the bible also tells us, also "gives people up" to their sins if they keep doing them, without repentance.

I think in the bible God spoke audibly to His prophets. That I know of, although I have heard from God in many different ways, I've never heard His "audible" voice. But yes, believers (and non believers whom God is wooing), can hear from Him, absolutely.

Interesting - the good voice in your head is God, therefore the voice telling you to things you ought not is, I suppose, the Devil. But whos voice is it in my head telling me that I need to rip out the fireplace and re-decorate?

I agree with you that the messages from spirit are different to your own thoughts. What you refer to as the voice of your conscience is yourself, or to be specific your higher self or soul or spirit, or instinct, whatever you wish to call it. Without a strong link with your higher self you would not find it so easy to receive messages from spirits related to others, who only wish to pass a message to help their relatives. A conscience is'nt something everyone has, or they may have it on occasion, when it suits them, it is the conscience which we answer to when we move to our spirit home/die.
